Abstract: A frame for an automobile vehicle door includes a profiled section forming a top and sides of the frame. A lower end of each of the sides of the frame is thicker, in a direction transverse to a plane formed by the frame, than the remainder of the frame. An interface portion is fastened to the profiled section, and each of the lower ends of the sides of the frame is formed by the interface portion and the profiled section. The profiled section can be constructed with an appropriate cross-section for the strength requirements at the top of the frame, while reinforcing the part of the frame subjected to higher bending stresses.
