  • Patent number: 4399029
Abstract: Apparatus for the concentration and sorting of solid waste materials according to their shapes, dimensions, and flexibility without breaking recyclable items. For this purpose, the collar 10 of the apparatus which also comprises a means for extracting flexible products, incorporates lifting devices 11 of bevelled shape and provided with the lining 12 absorbing shocks on the items to be sorted. A portion of these are eliminated at C through large perforations 15, the large flat items being collected at B1, the items having three large dimensions being evacuated at B2.

Date of Patent: August 16, 1983
Assignee: Bureau de Recherches Geologiques et Minieres
Inventors: Francois H. Clin, Jean-Noel M. Gony, Francois O. Proust, Roger O. Cuvillier, Philippe J. Larrose
  • Patent number: 4389020
Abstract: A rotary screen device for sorting refuse material particularly adapted for sorting a mixture of glass and plastics material. The device is generally cylindrical in shape, inclined at a preferred angle to the horizontal, and having three sections, an intake end, a central portion, and an output end. Transverse vanes are arranged in the input end to direct the incoming refuse material towards the central section. The central section includes plural longitudinal vanes which are connected at one end with the transverse vanes in the inlet end and is provided with a uniform distribution of perforations in the regions between the vanes. The outlet end includes no vanes but is provided with peripheral evacuating holes having their largest dimension in a direction perpendicular to the generatrices so that there is no risk of rotating a plastic bottle which could have the effect of an impeller which would drive pieces of glass out of a collection hopper provided below the central section and outlet end.

  • Patent number: 4141450
Abstract: The sorting method includes moving materials at a certain horizontal speed such that on falling their points of impact are disbursed over a moving sorting belt in such a manner that the materials become located at points which are sufficiently different to enable effective sorting to be obtained by small adhesion differences so that the adhering materials are carried by the sorting belt to a discharge region and the non-adhering or weakly adhering materials are rejected by the belt. The apparatus includes a feed device located above a moving adhesion belt having an adjustable speed control and an arrangement for adjusting the position of the feed device relative to the adhesion sorting belt.
