  • Patent number: 9022400
Abstract: A wheelchair including a chassis, two front suspension arms connected by a pivot link to the chassis and by a pivot link to a support assembly of a front wheel, two rear suspension arms connected by a pivot link to the chassis and by a pivot link to a support assembly of a rear wheel, and connecting means arranged to connect one of the front suspension arms to one of the rear suspension arms and to convert each rotational movement of the front suspension arm with respect to the chassis into a reverse rotational movement with respect to the chassis of the rear suspension arm to which it is connected by the connecting means, and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20140367190
Abstract: A steering mechanism comprising a first swing bar (1) with a first link (12) designed to allow the swing bar (1) to pivot about an axis of rotation (z). A second link (13) collaborates via a second pivot (23) with a first member (33) collaborating with a first wheel (43), and a third link (14) collaborates via a third pivot (24) with a second member (34) collaborating with a second wheel (44). The second link and the third link are positioned symmetrically. A fourth link (15) is designed to be able to collaborate via a fourth pivot (25) with a linear actuator (4). The fourth link is offset from said central axis so that actuation of the linear actuator (4) causes the swing bar to rotate, and causes a rotation of the wheels (43, 44).

  • Patent number: 7922184
Abstract: Steering mechanism for orienting the steered wheels (1a-d) of a short vehicle with respect to the chassis, comprising one first vertical axis (2) per steered wheel, allowing each steered wheel (1a-d) to pivot with respect to said chassis and a first link (5a-d) allowing a torque to be applied to each steered wheel to make it pivot around said first vertical axis. The inner end of the link is able to slide along a straight rail (11a-d) which in turn is rotatably mounted with respect to the chassis 60. A second link (6a-d) not parallel to the wheels forces the first link (5a-d) to slide in a defined manner along a rail (11a-d). This makes possible the differentiated orientation of the left and right wheels. Advantage: very small turning radius. Particularly applicable to electric chairs for the disabled.

  • Patent number: 6244662
Abstract: A wheelchair including a chassis (2) and an articulated height adjustment structure (12) with a seat, foot rest and back is disclosed. The articulated structure is made up of two symmetrical and lateral articulated systems, each having a first folding quadrilateral (17) with upper and lower bars (18, 19), pivoted at the front to the chassis and at the back by a spacer (20), and a second folding quadrilateral which helps to support the foot rest and connects the chassis at the front to the first quadrilateral. Each spacer is in the form of a triangular plate connected to the upper and lower bars (18, 19) by fixing nuts which can be set in adjustable positions on the bars. The spacers on opposite sides of the wheelchair are connected by a crosspiece.
