Abstract: A two-stage process for producing indoanilines includes oxidizing in a first stage a paraphenylene diamine to a quinone diimine and in a second stage condensing the said quinone diimine with a phenolic compound. The resulting indoanilines can be incorporated into a dye composition for keratinous fibers, especially, human hair.

Abstract: This invention pertains to compounds suitable for dyeing keratin fibers, especially human hair. The compounds have the formula: ##STR1## or an acid addition salt thereof, in which formula R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, a morpholino or piperidino ring and R represents a hydrogen atom.This invention also pertains to compositions for dyeing keratin fibers, especially human hair, such composition containing the compounds set forth above and/or compounds of formula (I) wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, R.sub.2 represents a tetrahydrofurfuryl or methoxyethyl radical and R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, or an acid addition salt thereof.The invention also pertains to the method of using these compositions.

Abstract: New dyestuffs are described for keratinic fibers which produce particularly luminous shades without the need for an oxidizing agent. These dyestuffs have the formula: ##STR1## or a tautomeric form thereof wherein each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.4, which may be identical or different, represents a member selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, acylamino and ureido;each of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, which may be identical or different, represents a member selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, amino, N-alkylamino, N-(hydroxyalkyl)-amino, N-(carbamyl-alkyl)-amino, acylamino and ureido, each of said alkyls containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms;each of R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, which may be identical or different, represents a member selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms and alkoxy containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, with the proviso that when R.sub.5 and R.sub.

Abstract: New compounds suitable for dyeing keratin fibres, especially human hair, are described. Abstract: Indoaniline of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represent alkyl; R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each independently represent hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, acylamino, ureido or carbalkoxyamino and R.sub.5 can also represent amino, alkylmaino, hydroxy alkylamino or carbamylalkylamino, the alkyl and alkoxy groups above being able to contain 1 to 6 carbon atoms and the acyl group from 2 to 7 carbon atoms with the condition that R.sub.5 does not represent hydrogen, chlorine, methyl or methoxy and when R.sub.5 represents acetylamino, R.sub.6 does not represent hydrogen; it being understood that the above compounds can be present in the tautomeric form of that represented by formula (I). The indoaniline is usefully employed in dye copositions for keratinic fibers, especially living human hair.

Abstract: Diphenylamines of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently represent hydrogen, halogen or lower alkyl containing 1-4 carbon atoms with at least one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 being other than hydrogen; R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, and R.sub.7 each independently represent hydrogen or lower alkyl optionally substituted with hydroxy, carbamyl, piperidinyl or acylamino; R.sub.3 and R.sub.6 or R.sub.4 and R.sub.7 also optionally forming together with the carbon and nitrogen atoms to which they are attached, a dihydrooxazine or pyrroline heterocycle; and Z represents amino, acylamino or hydroxy; and the acid salts of said diphenylamines. These diphenylamines are usefully employed in cosmetic compositions for the hair including hair dye compositions and hair setting lotion compositions.

Abstract: A process for producing indamine by condensing 2,6-diamino pyridine on a paraphenylene diamine or a benzoquinone diimine or a paranitroso N,N-dialkyl aniline. The resulting indamine can be incorporated into a dye composition for keratinic fibers, especially human hair.
