    Abstract: A polyester comprises ethylene 2,5 furandicarboxylate units and diethylene glycol units, the polyester having a melting temperature Tf of greater than or equal to 225° C., an intrinsic viscosity of greater than or equal to 0.65 dL/g, and in which the amount of diethylene glycol unit, denoted DEG, is less than 4 mol % and the quantity of ester functions in chain end situations is less than 100 meq/kg. A process for producing the polyester is disclosed.
