  • Patent number: 8582470
Abstract: A traffic network having a wired as well as a wireless network backbone is managed. The wireless network backbone has relay nodes having wireless routers, some acting as gateways to the wired backbone network and some as relay bridge routers for access network access. A management system has a logical multilevel hierarchical network overlying the traffic network. It is adapted to use the relay nodes as management stations. It performs a grouping process by arranging network nodes, including the relay nodes, in groups, each with a cluster head, on different hierarchical levels. A grouping controller controls the grouping and allocation of cluster heads based on a number of grouping constraints given by one or more criteria to be fulfilled at each hierarchical level. The criteria are calculated based on given metrics, the constraints are modeled, and fulfillment of the constraints is verified at each hierarchical level.

  • Patent number: 8391296
Abstract: A method of processing event subscriptions in a telecommunications or data network comprising a plurality of nodes organized in clusters, in multiple layers. Each cluster has a cluster leader. The method comprises maintaining by each node a routing table comprising a list of nodes in its cluster and a repository of event subscriptions; forwarding an ascending subscription by a node to all nodes within its cluster and to its cluster's leader; forwarding a descending subscription to all nodes of all layers that the node is a leader and adding a received event subscription to the event subscriptions repository and associating said subscription with a node, which forwarded it.

  • Patent number: 8321528
Abstract: A method of processing event notifications and event subscriptions in a telecommunications or data network comprising a plurality of nodes, wherein an individual node performs the steps of maintaining a first repository for storing a set of event subscriptions encoded in a first summary and maintaining a second repository for storing the set of event subscriptions. The node encodes a received event notification into a second summary and then checks if the received event notification is a member of the set by comparing the first summary and the second summary. If the event notification is not a member of the set said notification is discarded.

  • Patent number: 8094583
Abstract: The present invention relates to a proactive optimized link state protocol and a node with routing means supporting such a protocol implementing multipoint relaying for distribution of control messages, e.g. comprising hello messages, which are extended and comprise neighbour information, link status information and resource related information, and second control messages, e.g. TC messages comprising information relating to MPR selectors which are extended to also hold information of a shared information repository (4) adapted to hold generic service related information. Internal information repositories (231i, 232, 233) are extended to additionally hold resource related information for neighbours, neighbour links and multipoint relay selectors. The protocol implements cross-layer (21, 22, 23) communication.

  • Publication number: 20110191460
Abstract: The present invention relates to a node supporting networking and communication with other nodes by means of a layered communication protocol and group communication with other nodes controlled via a grouping protocol adapted to interact with said communication protocol. The node comprises a policy engine which is arranged separately from, but in communication with said grouping protocol. The policy engine is adapted to establish current and/or changing node, group and network related information and to use one or more grouping policies to automatically and dynamically control grouping related actions and adapt the grouping. The invention also relates to a system comprising a number of such nodes and a method of controlling grouping.
