  • Publication number: 20090274019
Abstract: The invention provides an optical scanning apparatus for appliances for recording or reproducing information using an optical recording medium, said scanning apparatus automatically matching itself to the curvature of a curved recording medium or of a recording medium with axial runout without there being different wire diameters for the resilient support of the lens holder (LH) or other additional damping means or an additional control loop for this purpose. This object is achieved by virtue of an arrangement comprising coils and magnets being provided which has an asymmetrical magnetic field distribution which is provided for matching the orientation of a lens (L) in the optical scanning device to a curved recording medium or to any axial runout in the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20050073917
Abstract: The present invention relates to a CD changer of the “carousel type”, in which three or five optical recording media, referred to below as disk, are arranged on a rotatable disk holder, the carousel. It has a drawer (2) which can be moved between a retracted and an extended position by a drawer movement mechanism (8). The object of the invention is to propose a solution which improves the functionality of the CD changer. It is proposed in the invention that the drawer has a stop (15, 25) which, in the extended position, bears against a pin (11, 21) of the drawer movement mechanism (8), and which, when force acts on the drawer (2), exerts on the drawer movement mechanism a force which is directed in the radial direction of said mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4170866
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing open-end spun yarn using an electrostatic field produced by a pair of spaced electrodes in combination with a spinning rotor having an acutely inclined circumferential wall and a circumferential groove at the junction between the inner surface of the rotor wall and the planar surface of the rotor. Staple fibers are fed to the electrostatic field where they are generally linearly oriented and straightened and from which the fibers are aerodynamically withdrawn and fed onto the inner surface of the inclined rotor wall by means of a feed passageway tangentially oriented to the inclined rotor wall and having a gradually decreasing cross-sectional area so as to impose upon the fibers fed therethrough an ever-increasing velocity.

  • Patent number: 4028871
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing spun yarn using an electrostatic field produced by a pair of spaced electrodes, one of which surrounds the other to isolate the electrostatic field therebetween from external physical and electrical disturbances. Staple fibers are fed into the field through an aperture in the surrounding electrode for migration in the electrostatic field to a linear zone of increased field intensity from which the fibers are withdrawn and twisted to form a spun yarn, which may be done without the use of a core yarn or with a core yarn drawn through the linear zone and subjected to a false twisting operation to collect and twist the fibers thereon. Beyond the linear zone is another zone of increased field intensity for electrostatic collection of fly and other waste material. Suction is applied to remove the fly and other waste material from the electrostatic field and also serves to draw the feeding fibers through the aperture into the electrostatic field.
