Patent number: 12018836Abstract: An electrically controlled valve which can be operated using a programable controller. A cooperating pair of the electrically controlled valves can be used in a Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO). The electrically controlled valve has two seats, and a blade which can move between a first position contacting the first seat and a second position contacting the second seat. The blade is moved by an actuator which is controlled by a variable frequency drive (VFD). A control computer continuously monitors the operation of both valves and halts operation of the system upon detecting a fault (error). The motion of the blade is programmed such that force of impact on the seat is reduced. Once the blade is seated, a brake is engaged which maintains the stationary position while utilizing relatively low power.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2020Date of Patent: June 25, 2024Assignee: Nestec, Inc.Inventors: Jim Nester, Rick Reimlinger, Jack Clark, Frank DeSantis

Patent number: 8613644Abstract: A tool for moving an abrasive media can include a tool body and a drive system housed in the tool body. The drive system can include an output member. A retaining member can be disposed on the tool body. A first platen having a first attachment hub can be selectively coupled with the retaining member in an installed position. The first platen can have a first rotatable member that selectively attaches to the output member in a first mode of operation. A second platen having a second attachment hub can selectively couple with the retaining member in an installed position. The second platen can have a second rotatable member that selectively attaches to the output member in a second mode of operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: December 24, 2013Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: Wade C. Patent number: 8578615Abstract: A jigsaw may include a housing, a control member, a shoe member and a keel. The housing contains a motor and include a handle. The control member is moveable relative to the housing between at least a first position that implements a curve-cutting mode and a second position that implements a straight-cutting mode. The shoe member is connected to the housing and includes a bottom surface facing away from the housing. The keel is operable in a deployed configuration in which the keel protrudes through the bottom surface of the shoe member and a stowed configuration in which the keel does not protrude through the bottom surface of the shoe member. Relative motion between the shoe and the keel allows the keel to be in the deployed configuration when the control member is in the second position and the stowed configuration when the control member is in the first position.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2011Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: Ashok Samuel Baskar, Steven McClaskey, Frank A. DeSantis, Zhang Haitao

Patent number: 4455044Abstract: The pickup and insert tool is used during the automated assembly of small motors and other products that require tie bolts, screws, and similar fasteners. Different length tie bolts are handled without adjusting the tool. The fastener is picked up from a holder and held between a pair of spring loaded jaws. The motion to insert the tie bolt is provided by a movable rod which also accommodates the different lengths of the bolts.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1981Date of Patent: June 19, 1984Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Bela L. Musits, Frank A. DeSantis
