Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a plastics body with patterned layers for producing dental prostheses having the steps: method for production, wherein the method is characterized by the following steps: A) providing a first and a second PMMA-based compound which are uncured and have different colorations; B) heating of a first patterned pressing surface to between 90° C. and 150° C.; C) pressing of the first PMMA-based compound with the heated first pressing surface, such that a patterned surface of the first PMMA-based compound is obtained; D) detachment of the first pressing surface; E) heating of the first or of a second patterned pressing surface to between 90° C. and 150° C.

Abstract: A sorting apparatus for a set of golf balls includes a frame, a ball hopper, a plurality of sort bins, a chain driven elevator, a motor, a set of ball cups, a camera, a gravity fed sorter divider, a set of ball gates, and a controller. The controller activates the motor, monitors an image from the camera for recognition of a printed golf ball marking, and activates a ball gate. A selected golf ball is directed to a corresponding sort bin by the ball gate.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices related to a radial mounting interface holding a compact monolithic telescope, or generally an optical component, with robust optical alignment. An example optical mounting apparatus includes a mounting structure including a plurality of segments that are configured to surround a circumferential area of a monolithic optical device and to hold the monolithic optical device in place, wherein each of the plurality of segments includes a ridged or a grooved interface surface to couple the mounting structure to corresponding grooves or ridges in a surface of the monolithic optical device. The apparatus further includes an elastomeric material confined between the ridged or grooved interface surface of the mounting structure and the one or more corresponding grooves or ridges in the surface of the monolithic optical device. Also disclosed are thermal management features that passively enable diffraction-limited performance of large aperture monolithic optics.

Abstract: An example sacrificial fire shield for shielding an aircraft part during a fire event includes a fiberglass layer, a ceramic fiber layer including heat-resistant fibers that is positioned on the fiberglass layer. The ceramic fiber layer and the fiberglass layer comprise a stack-up and the stack-up is pre-impregnated with rubber. The sacrificial fire shield also includes a durable outer layer comprising aramid fibers. The durable outer layer is positioned on the ceramic fiber layer to enable press curing into a form factor.
