  • Publication number: 20140305522
Abstract: Provided is a valve module for a stream selector that includes first and second pistons axially movable against a biasing force by fluid from an actuation passage acting on undersides of the respective pistons to move a valve head from a closed position to an open position where fluid flows from an inlet passage into a control chamber portion to an outlet passage. Thereby, the stream selector operates at significantly lower actuation air pressures, while providing a valve module that is backwards compatible.

  • Publication number: 20120298238
Abstract: Modular fluidic mixing system for delivering a fluid mixture from separate sources to a point of use. The system includes a mounting board and a series of rows of substrate fittings mounted on the board. Each row has a first end fitting connected to one of the fluid sources and a second end fitting. Each of the fittings in a row is connected in fluid communication to an adjacent one of the fittings in the row to define a fluid flow path from the one of the fluid sources to the second end fitting. Each second end fitting in each row is connected in fluid communication to an adjacent second end fitting in an adjacent row to define a mixing header. The fluids are mixed within the header and exit as a mixture. Fluid flow components for controlling flow from the fluid sources are mounted to the fittings.

  • Publication number: 20050203208
Abstract: The present invention is directed to mineral-filled polyester compounds and films which are produced by melt blowing polyester resins containing 10 to 50 wt % fillers. The fillers are selected from two different groups: the first consisting of block type fillers including inorganic carbonates, synthetic carbonates, feldspar, nepheline syenite, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum trihydrate, and diatomaceous earth; the second consisting of platy fillers including talc, mica, or calcined clays, all having a particle size less than 150 mesh. These fillers may be employed in mixtures to yield films and molded articles characterized by improved stiffness, handling, and end-use characteristics, increased rates of environmental degradation in biological and photochemical processes, and reduced cost.

  • Patent number: 6619321
Abstract: A stream selector for a process analyzer prevents contamination of one sample from previous samples without requiring a common outlet header. The stream selector includes a valve manifold having a base plate and a series of valve modules individually removeably attached to the base plate. The base plate includes all the process connections for the fluid lines. Each valve module includes a module body with a pair of valve assemblies. The valve assemblies in each module are operated simultaneously through a common actuation passage. A poppet valve in each valve assembly has a valve head with a double-seated seal. The double seated seal controls the flow of fluid through a vent passage in the valve body; and between inlet and outlet passages in the valve body. The outlet passage from one valve assembly is fluidly-connected to the inlet passage of an adjacent valve assembly to create a double-block and bleed configuration. The downstream valve assembly is then connected to the process analyzer.

  • Publication number: 20030136176
Abstract: A closed, gaseous fluid analyzing system includes a gas analyzer measuring cell that operates under substantially stable conditions by controlling both the pressure and flow rate of a plurality of differing gas streams while passing through the analyzer measuring cell. The plurality of gas streams are individually extracted and segregated while passing through the system, with the measuring cell being positioned between a flow controller and pressure regulator that cooperate to control upstream and downstream pressure and flow rate fluctuations in the gas streams. Methods of maintaining both substantially constant pressure and flow rate for the gas streams flowing through the analyzer measuring cell are also set forth.

  • Patent number: 5277073
Abstract: An on-line gas chromatographic liquid inject valve which comprises (a) a sampling shaft having a channel defined therein which is reciprocal between a sampling position wherein a liquid stream flows across the shaft and through the channel and an inject position wherein the channel traverses a length of a seal and delivers a liquid sample carried from the liquid stream in the channel to a gas chromatograph for analysis, (b) a fluid-driven piston- or plunger-type arrangement at an outer end of the shaft for causing the sampling shaft to reciprocate between the sampling position and the inject position, (c) a seal around the sampling shaft and between the liquid stream and the gas chromatograph in use of the valve, and (d) a fluid-driven piston having a central opening defined therein in which the sampling shaft reciprocates, and which bears against the seal for placing and maintaining a constant pressure against the seal as the seal wears from frictional contact between the sampling shaft and the seal.

  • Patent number: 4303304
Abstract: Connector ferrule and method for terminating an optical waveguide cable. The ferrule, of generally truncated conical profile, is configured having a profiled passageway therethrough from a rearward cable receiving portion to a forward bore critically located centrally of a forward ferrule face and sized to allow only the passage of an unclad waveguide portion therethrough. The waveguide cable is secured within the ferrule by adhesive means, with an unclad waveguide portion protruding through the forward ferrule bore and a clad waveguide portion within an intermediate region of the passageway. Thereafter, the forward nose of the ferrule and the unclad waveguide portion therethough are removed to present a clad waveguide face centrally of a forward face of the ferrule.
