  • Patent number: 4475277
Abstract: A method of making a hose construction wherein the hose construction comprises a hose having a hose end and a hose clamp assembly fastened to opposite sides of a first arcuate length of the hose end with a second arcuate length of the hose end defining the remaining 360.degree. circumference thereof and with the assembly being movable between an unclamped and a clamped position thereof and in the clamped position employs the second arcuate length of the hose end as clamping means; and, the assembly comprises a first straight member, an L-shaped member, and a simple link connected between the members which cooperate with the members to move the assembly between the unclamped and a clamped positions thereof with optimum simplicity and the assembly has means for locking same in its clamped position.

  • Patent number: 4376005
Abstract: A convoluted hose and method of making same are provided wherein such hose is comprised of a polymeric strip which has a first and second connecting means defining opposite side edge portions thereof and the strip is disposed in a helical pattern with the first and second connecting means connected together to define the hose having alternating crests and troughs and the hose has an electromagnetically heatable material disposed between the first and second connecting means with the material having been subjected to electromagnetic heating action such that the material provides a tenacious heat fused bond between the first and second connecting means.

  • Patent number: 4294636
Abstract: A method and apparatus for continuously forming a reinforced, flexible duct or hose. The apparatus comprises an extruder for forming an elongated, flat strip of a polymeric material, a strip shaping means for shaping the flat strip to define a profiled strip, means for helically winding the profiled strip with adjoining turns having portions in overlapping relation, means for disposing a reinforcing wire in sandwiched relation between the overlapped strip portions, and means for bonding the overlapping portions. The method comprises the steps of extruding a continuous flat strip of a polymeric material, forming the flat strip to define a profiled strip, helically winding the profiled strip with overlapping adjoining turns, disposing a reinforcing wire in sanwiched relation between the overlapping portions, and bonding together the overlapping portions.
