  • Publication number: 20200048602
Abstract: The method of culturing cells disclosed herein includes printing cells onto a substrate that includes cell adhesive regions and cell repulsive regions. The cells are suspended in a printing medium to create a cell suspension, and a volume of the cell suspension is loaded into a printer. A cell adhesive region of the substrate is aligned beneath the printing channel of the printer, and droplets of the cell suspension are dispensed from the printing channel directly onto the cell adhesive region. Contact of the dispensed droplets with cell repulsive regions of the substrate is limited, either by targeting of the droplets to the cell adhesive regions, by repulsions generated by the cell repulsive areas, or both. The cells adhere to the cell adhesive regions to create a cell pattern, and are maintained thereafter in a physiologically suitable environment.

  • Publication number: 20140344395
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for a system for migrating an application between cloud environments such as datacenters. In some examples, an application hosted at a source cloud may be moved from the source cloud to the destination cloud by migrating one or more objects at a time from the source to the destination cloud while maintaining the application up and running by intercepting and redirecting requests to a source or destination depending on where related objects reside. Example objects may be data structures, attributes and associated behaviors that encapsulate the application. Migration of the objects may be facilitated by enumerating and serializing the objects, and loading subsets of one or more serialized objects at the destination datacenter. An object migration module may keep track of objects in transit, and may direct requests for transferred objects to the destination cloud for maintaining continued access to the application.

  • Publication number: 20090128057
Abstract: A fluorescent lamp formed of a power control unit and a fluorescent lamp assembly. The lamp assembly includes a fluorescent tube having filaments and including inductive and capacitive components connect to the filaments forming a resonant network. The power control unit includes an input power unit, an energy recovery pump, a bulk capacitor and a lamp driver including a half-bridge power stage and a half-bridge driver. The input power unit provides an input voltage, includes a lamp driver for switching a high DC voltage with a high switching frequency to provide a high-frequency driving voltage for driving the resonant network. The energy recovery pump is balanced so as not to disturb the resonance of the network and so as to enable recovery and transfer of energy to the bulk capacitor and thereby establish a high luminous efficiency for the fluorescent lamp.

  • Patent number: 6731890
Abstract: An electrostatographic machine having a transfer station including a toner image carrier and a transfer member for electrostatic transfer of toner from the toner image carrier to a toner-image area on a receiver sheet in a nip formed between the toner image carrier and the transfer member. Receiver sheet has a leading edge included in a leading edge margin area and a trailing edge included in a trailing edge margin area. A programmable power supply supplies and controls transfer station current. Before the leading edge enters the nip and after the trailing edge leaves the nip, but not while the toner-image area is in the nip, transfer station current is successively switchably altered by the programmable power supply between at least two predetermined magnitudes. The transfer station current is preferably zero, of a low magnitude, in at least a portion of the leading edge margin area so as to effectively suppress wrap.
