  • Patent number: 4953597
Abstract: Apparatus for adjusting the length of the weft thread to be inserted into the shed of weaving looms that provides an automatic correction of the weft thread length during each weaving cycle of the weaving process by adding to or subtracting a variable amount of weft thread from the accumulated length of weft thread prior to insertion of the thread into the shed.

  • Patent number: 4947898
Abstract: A method for supplying weft threads to the weft of a weaving machine includes the steps of leading the thread successively through two thread accumulators, one of which is a prewinder which at each insertion releases a length of thread equal to the thread length required, and the second of which is a thread accumulator which has a lower draw-off resistance than the prewinder, and which provides a thread accumulation consisting of at least a part of the length of thread released from the prewinder. An apparatus for implementing the above method includes the above-mentioned two accumulators and control means for controlling thread insertion nozzles and also a thread clip on the low-resistance accumulator which determines the beginning of insertion and a magnetic pin on the prewinder which controls the end of insertion.

  • Patent number: 4909286
Abstract: A method for regulating the supply of weft thread on weaving machines includes the steps of winding the weft thread from a thread supply by means of a draw-off roller driven by a motor, supplying the thread to an accumulator, and controlling the draw-off roller motor by a pulse train generated on the basis of a set value and a second pulse train whose frequency is proportional to the main shaft of the weaving machine. By adjusting the set value, the speed of the draw-off roller can be adjusted to account for such factors as thread type, thickness extensibility and diameter, and also thread supply package diameter and variations in thread draw-off speed. A device for implementing the method of the invention includes, in a preferred embodiment, a cam, a set value setting unit, a shaft pulse generator for generating the second pulse train, a buffer, and a counter which adds the set value and the second pulse train to generate the first pulse train.

  • Patent number: 4909285
Abstract: A thread clip including a clamping mechanism (1) consisting of a first jaw (2) and a second jaw (3); a spring mechanism (4) which presses the clamping mechanism jaws (1) together; an electromagnetic device (5) which can open the clamping mechanism against the force of the above-mentioned spring mechanism (4); a cam mechanism (6) which can close the clamping mechanism (1) against the force of the electromagnetic device (5); and a mechanism (7) which on closing of the clamping mechanism (1) by means of the cam mechanism (6) presses the different elements of the clamping mechanism (1) against each other with a certain clamping force.

  • Patent number: 4821781
Abstract: A weft accumulating method and assembly of a weaving loom for accumulating a lenght of weft thread to be inserted into a shed by a pick insertion assembly of the loom in which the accumulator comprises a weft supply; includes a drawing off device off a predetermined length of weft thread from the supply; at least one perforated cylindrical tube; a fluid blowing device to blow the drawn off weft through the tube; and a clamping device to open and close the end of the tube to accumulate weft thread in the tube when the device is closed and to supply the weft thread to the pick insertion assembly when the device is open.

  • Patent number: 4792101
Abstract: Process for unwinding a thread from a reel in looms, wherein the thread (6) is guided through a thread guide (4) placed behind the reel, characterized thereby that the distance (L) between said thread guide (4) and said reel (3) is adjusted automatically mainly during the weaving process.

  • Patent number: 4673004
Abstract: An adjustable control for weft thread delivery of an air jet weaving loom includes a system for selectively controlling the control time and the duration of master weft delivery jets in response to measurements made of weft thread delivery during the weaving process. Different types of weft threads are provided with their own master jets that are independently controllable as to duration time and/or control time. The duration and/or control time of auxiliary jets disposed along the shed of the loom are also controllable in response to detected weft motion. The system also includes a control system for the weft supply drums responsive to detected weft thread delivery during the weaving process.
