  • Patent number: 6021952
Abstract: A combination check valve, shutoff and seal cartridge is provided for a thermostatic valve, wherein the thermostatic valve includes hot and cold water inlets communicating with an ON/OFF/volume control and/or diverting water valve. The water output of the water volume control is then plumbed to a tub spout, faucet, showerhead or other plumbing device(s). The thermostatic valve has a body with both the cold water inlet and the hot water inlet, and a mixed temperature water outlet for mixed water of a predetermined temperature. Each inlet has respective ports accepting a corresponding combination check valve shutoff and seal cartridge. The cartridge has a housing with a spring therein. The cartridge housing has a seat element, and a pair of elastomeric stop seals fitted in respective sides of the cartridge housing. The seals seal a fluid flow path to the inner sides of the ports of the thermostatic valve body at the hot and cold water inlets of the thermostatic valve body.

  • Patent number: 5595212
Abstract: An improved inlet stop fixture for conventional hot and cold inlets to plumbing fixture which is threaded onto a male pipe thread with a nipple, to prevent a gap of uncontrolled length from the fixture to the wall. The improved inlet stop system includes a new intermediate element, namely a water inlet tube extension, which fits between the conventional pipe nipple and the valve fixture itself. The inlet tube extension includes an inlet coupling section, an O-ring collar, with an O-ring, and a fixture coupling threaded nipple at the far end. The water inlet tube extension is threaded onto the nipple that extends through the wall. Alternately, a non-threaded solder type connection water inlet tube extension may be connected to a non-threaded copper tube for a solder connection. In either embodiment, the inner O-ring is provided in a groove to produce a sliding fit over the body of the valve fixture.

  • Patent number: 5560541
Abstract: A hot water shut off valve for use for domestic household water shower use which shuts off excessively hot water. The valve generally includes an water inlet source opening to an inner chamber. The inner chamber has an outlet source at the base of said chamber, a sealing means communicating with said outlet sources for alternately turning on or off the flow of water from said inlet sources through said outlet sources. The sealing means is urged against the base of said mixing chamber by means of a paraffin power element communicating with a spring. In the preferred embodiment, a reset member is provided to reset the flow of warm water from the inlet source to the outlet source.

  • Patent number: 5193582
Abstract: A diverter valve for use for domestic household water use which may be operated at a minimal use of manual forces disclosed. The diverter valve generally includes a plurality of water inlet sources opening to an inner chamber. Said inner chamber having a plurality of outlet sources at the base of said chamber, a sealing means communicating with said outlet sources for alternately turning on or off the flow of water from said inlet sources through said outlet sources. The sealing means is urged against the base of said mixing chamber by means of a spring, as well as by the pressure of water from said inlet sources above said sealing means. The sealing means is rotatable as the result of rotation of a spindle. In the preferred embodiment an O-ring is provided to further seal the water away from the inlet source and the outlet source.

  • Patent number: 4955406
Abstract: A connector for establishing a communication between an existing water pipe and an additional conduit has a clamp arranged to clamp an existing water pipe and including a clamp housing and clamping elements cooperating with the latter, and a valve arranged to pierce the existing water pipe and establish a communication between the existing water pipe and the additional conduit, wherein a housing of the valve and the housing of the clamp together form an integral one piece housing element. A plunger of the valve has a contact surface which can be brought in contact with a seal and interrupt the communication in a water tight manner.

  • Patent number: 4876749
Abstract: A twist drain has a cylindrical twist drain element which is mountable on a tail piece and has a holding member and a rotatable member which rotates between open and closed positions to permit and interrupt a flow of fluid through the twist drain, a thread provided between the holding and rotatable members to rotatably connect them with one another, and a seal which prevents penetration of debris and foreign matter to the thread. This is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 07/183,256, filed Apr. 8, 1988, now abandoned, which in turn is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 07/068,619, filed on June 30, 1987, now abandoned.

  • Patent number: 4815703
Abstract: A sink handle for use in a water faucet, which may be operated at a minimum use of manual force is disclosed. The sink handle generally includes a valve spindle contained within a body, with the spindle being rotatable by a fluid flow. The sink handle also includes a seat bearing adjacent to said valve spindle and a cushion upon which said spindle is rotatable. A bonnet, which may be opened and closed, permits a flow of a fluid therethrough by opening a movable closure element. The bonnet is rotatable as a result of the rotation of the valve spindle. In preferred embodiments of the invention, O-rings function as the cushion. Additionally, a seat bearing may be impregnated in polytetraflouroethylene.
