Patent number: 11441681Abstract: Systems and methods related to activating a parking lock system in the drive train of a vehicle having at least one electrical machine comprising a transmission which is connected to driven wheels. The method includes comparing a rotational speed nE of the at least one electrical machine with the transmission to a predetermined threshold value for a limiting speed nG, triggering, in the event that the rotational speed nE is below the threshold value for the limiting speed nG, a command for the actuation of an actuator system for activating the parking lock system, triggering, in the event that the rotational speed nE exceeds the threshold value for the limiting speed nG, a command for preventing an actuation of an actuator system for activating the parking lock system, and miming through a second comparison stage so long as nE?nG.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2019Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Frank Bast, Ingo Drewe

Publication number: 20210239213Abstract: The invention relates to a method for activating a parking lock system (20) in the drive train (18) of a vehicle (10) having at least one electrical machine (24) comprising a transmission which is connected to driven wheels (16), wherein the following method steps are carried out: a) comparing a rotational speed nE of the at least one electrical machine (24) with the transmission to a predetermined threshold value for a limiting speed nG, b) in the event that the rotational speed nE is below the threshold value for the limiting speed nG, triggering (38) a command for the actuation of an actuator system for activating the parking lock system (20) takes place, c) in the event that the rotational speed nE exceeds the threshold value for the limiting speed nG, the triggering of a command for actuation of an actuator system for activating the parking lock system (20) is prevented (42), and d) miming through a second comparison stage (44) so long as nE?nG and, when nE?nG is reached, branching to method step b).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2019Publication date: August 5, 2021Inventors: Frank Bast, Ingo Drewe

Patent number: 9764743Abstract: A method for measuring an engine load of a drive motor in a vehicle. Here, at least one parameter which characterizes the engine load is allocated a driving distance equivalent. This driving distance equivalent is then incremented by a driving distance counter. If the vehicle is equipped with a sailing functionality, the driven distance is counted only if the vehicle is moving and the drive train is coupled to the drive motor without slip. A rate of rotation sensor, a clutch sensor and a driving distance counter able to be switched on and off are required for running the method of the present invention. A computer program is used in addition.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2014Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: ROBERT BOSCH GMBHInventor: Frank Bast

Publication number: 20150112562Abstract: A method for controlling a clutch start after an engine stop coasting phase of a motor vehicle whose service brake is applied and whose braking system may be influenced by a clutch control with regard to the braking torque. In this connection, the braking torque is reduced by the value caused by the clutch start as an effective wheel torque by engaging the clutch. This has the advantage that the exact amount of braking effect is achieved, which was intended by the original application of the brake without a clutch start. Consequently, no additional braking effect results from the clutch start, which would reduce the comfort of the passengers. The passengers namely perceive a clutch start as the application of the brake.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2014Publication date: April 23, 2015Inventor: Frank BAST

Patent number: 7158873Abstract: A method of controlling an automated clutch of a vehicle includes the step of adapting a characteristic curve of the clutch through an electronic clutch management system. The adaptation is performed under at least one set of operating conditions that are represented by an operating point.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2003Date of Patent: January 2, 2007Assignee: LuK Lamellen und Kupplungsbau Beteiligungs KGInventors: Jürgen Eich, Thomas Jäger, Bernhard Boll, Frank Bast

Patent number: 7062986Abstract: Methods and apparatus are taught for controlling the operation of a power train in a motor vehicle (1), which may include controlling a clutch actuating mechanism (20) so as to open a clutch (3) in a vehicle pull mode. Then, a transmission (4) may be changed from a first gear position to a second gear position via a neutral position by moving a transmission actuator. At or about the same time, the ignition angle of a spark-ignited combustion engine (2) is preferably shifted during the gear change step to cause the combustion engine to generate a negative engine torque. As a result, engine speed is decreased when the transmission is disposed in the neutral position and a desired engine torque can be rapidly realized as soon as the transmission actuator is disposed in the second gear position. Thereafter, the clutch is closed again.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2003Date of Patent: June 20, 2006Assignee: LuK Lamellen und Kupplungsbau Beteiligungs KGInventors: Jörg Metzger, Alexander Schweizer, Frank Bast, Christian Rieger, Johannes Moosheimer, Michael Gallion, Florian Strack

Patent number: 6997075Abstract: In a motor vehicle transmission, gears representing different transmission ratios are engaged by applying a force to an actuator output element that couples a selected gear to a rotary shaft. A synchronizing device blocks the coupling of the gear to the shaft until at least an approximate synchronization of rpm-rates has been achieved. A synchronization threshold position corresponding to the blocked condition of the actuator element is stored in a memory of a controller device. The controller device periodically performs an automatic adaptation of the stored value for the synchronization threshold position.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2003Date of Patent: February 14, 2006Assignee: Luk Lamellen und Kupplungsbau Beteiligungs KGInventors: Boris Serebrennikov, Klaus Henneberger, Martin Eckert, Frank Bast, Reinhard Berger, Martin Vornehm, Stefan Winkelmann
