  • Patent number: 8507081
Abstract: An absorbing element having an adhesive surface showing adhesive properties for adhering to a substrate wherein at least a part of the surface has been treated, resulting in alteration of the surface properties of the heat treated part of the surface. By heat treatment, it is possible to provide an adhesive surface having parts showing different colors, water absorption properties, and/or adhesive properties. These parts include grottos in a first facade of the absorbing element that are at least 5 ?m in diameter, with an average size of the grottos being less than 300 ?m.

  • Patent number: 8084138
Abstract: A method of decreasing the penetration depth of radiation provided to an interface, such as a surface, or a predetermined volume in a polyethylene (PE) element, where the PE element has a scattering coefficient larger than one tenth of an absorption coefficient thereof so that the radiation not absorbed at the interface or in the volume but transmitted further into the PE element is at least partly reflected toward the interface/volume. The radiation intensity is higher in the volume and the absorption coefficient may be reduced while retaining the total absorption in the volume.

Date of Patent: December 27, 2011
    Assignee: Coloplast A/S

  • Patent number: 7777092
Abstract: A skin plate product is provided, which can be better tailored with respect to controlling the properties of the first and second surfaces by cutting holes in an adhesive matrix with a laser and subsequently filling these holes with a second material. Preferably at least one zone of the second material extends from the top surface to the bottom surface of the adhesive, with an exposed part of the second material at the top surface having a different pattern than an exposed part of the second material at the bottom surface. The zones are formed as bodies of frustums of cones having their basis at the same surface.

  • Publication number: 20080319368
Abstract: Provide is a skin plate product, which can be better tailored with respect to controlling the properties of the first and second surfaces. This is obtained by cutting holes in an adhesive matrix with a laser and subsequently filling these holes with a second material. Being able to design the exact location, orientation, distribution and/or size of the second material opens the path for adhesive products where e.g. adhesion, absorption, and permeability are controlled and balanced.

The radiation intensity is higher in the volume and the absorption coefficient may be reduced while retaining the total absorption in the volume. This may be used for all known techniques where radiation is desired absorbed, such as in welding, surface preparation, polymer chemistry, the activation of photo activatable substances etc.
