Abstract: By using simple means, a telecommunications terminal can be expanded to a large number of functions. The telecommunications terminal is composed of a digital signal processor (DSP), an interface (LS, V.24, PCMCIA-S) for the input of software, and means to start the input and execute the software. The software for executing basic functions is fixed and software for executing special functions can be called up and loaded via the interface (LS, V.24, PCMCIA-S).

Abstract: To produce a telecommunications system and terminal equipment, which brings about immediate action for important incoming calls. User information in an incoming call is evaluated according to predetermined criteria, and a message is sent to the recipient at his current location. The data received as a result of an incoming call are evaluated by a data processing installation or a telecommunications terminal, and a message is dispatched. The message reaches the called party, who is able to retrieve and view all of the data on another communications installation.

Abstract: An application program interface for integrated services digital networks is implemented so that application programs can be generated independently of network protocols (Layer 1, 2; 1TR6, VN2) and independently of the respective implementation of service features. The application program interface contains for each network service an independent service program module (Telephony, FAX, Packet data, Teletex, . . . ) with a message set representing procedures as specified by standards (CCITT, ETSI, . . . ).

Abstract: Transmission of video and audio signals through an integrated services digital network by low-cost means is carried out by a device in the form of a terminal adapter (TA-TV) to which conventional picture and sound recording devices (CAM) and picture and sound reproduction devices (TV) are connected. Device sockets (B, C) to which the picture and sound recording devices (CAM) and picture and sound reproduction devices (TV) are connected are provided on the terminal adapter (TA-TV). A connection with an integrated services digital network (ISDN) is provided via a network socket (A). The terminal adapter (TA-TV) performs an adaptation of the signals to the network.

Abstract: A subscriber terminal for ISDN networks in the form of an ISDN telephone (11) is equipped with a keyboard (15,16), a display (14) and a connection socket (19) for another applications terminal (21-24), such as a printer and/or a keyboard and/or a computer, a PC for example. An interface is integrated into the ISDN telephone (11) for the cost-effective connection of an applications terminal, with which the ability to communicate between the applications terminal to be connected (21-24) and the ISDN network, can be established.

Abstract: A device is provided for rapid data exchange between a telecommunications transmitter (T) and a data processor (PC), and includes a driver (TSV) and an intermediate line (FAST-LINK). The driver (TSV) is arranged between a terminal adapter (ADAPT) of the telecommunications transmitter (T) and an interface of the data processor (PC). The intermediate line (FAST-LINK) is arranged between the driver (TSV) and the data processor (PC). The telecommunications transmitter (T) is connected to a telecommunications network (ISDN) having a signalling channel and a user channel.
