Abstract: A method and system for exchanging data using a wireless connection according to which a user with one or more portable terminals is located in the transmission and receiving area of at least one network and the terminal or terminals log on automatically to the network in order to establish a connection. A transmission channel for the data exchange is made available for the respective connection that has been established. The transmission channel is automatically adapted for the data exchange to the type of terminal and the type, for example, quantity, of data to be transmitted, by an administrator that is allocated to the network.

Abstract: A method and system for running and/or organizing at least one telecommunications network is provided. A software for organizing and/or carrying out the switching of telecommunications connections and/or services is run down by a central server of the telecommunications network. When the switching capacity of the switchboards is not sufficient, the software may be transmitted at least temporarily to at least another server of another selectable telecommunications network and/or is activated in said server at least temporarily. This may be effected in order to increase the transmission capacity.

Abstract: A method for operating a telecommunication network in exceptional situations includes defining a group of connections of the network, the connections each having a respective terminal connected thereto, the connections being dialable via individual network identification numbers. The connections are blocked for calls to be allocated to the connections. Lines leading to the connections are rerouted via a server connected to the network. The server is used to organize the calls.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for operating a telecommunication network in case of a temporary heavy load (exceptional case), particularly in case of a dangerous situation affecting at least part of the population. The network comprises a plurality of connections to which terminals, e.g. telephones, computers, or fax machines are hooked. Said connections are dialed via individual network identification signals. A central computer (server) organizing the connections is tied into the network. A group of connections is identified in exceptional cases, the connections of the group being blocked for incoming and outgoing calls. The lines leading to the connections are rerouted via the server which centrally organizes the calls to be allocated to said connections.
