Abstract: Scientific research and collaboration can be performed over a network using a client device. The user generates a search query including a search term. A preliminary search result is received including one or more web documents distributed over the network in response to the search query. The preliminary search result is analyzed for additional terms, and a list of the additional terms including a frequency indication is displayed. The user can then narrow the preliminary search result to a final search result with Boolean criteria using the additional terms. The final search result is then displayed. Other features facilitate communication and collaboration among scientists to improve research and publication capabilities.

Abstract: A system for processing scientific posters over a global network enables users to generate professionally-prepared posters conveniently and at reasonable costs. The system enables a user to select design parameters for the poster, and after establishing design criteria and uploading substantive data to be included in the poster, the scientific poster is generated for user review and subsequent delivery. Delivery can be effected via one or more vehicles according to user preference. Electronic poster components facilitate display, archiving, cross-referencing and dissemination of scientific posters and enable the incorporation of more detailed drill-down data access or links to helpful supplementary information. The data uploaded from the user for processing the scientific posters may be stored by searchable database categories, such as author(s), subject matter, conference, date, etc.

Abstract: A combination handsaw providing one of a plurality of blades. A pair of blade housings are pivoted together at one end, supporting first and second blades of different types for cutting. The blade housings receive each of the blades in a retracted, non-cutting position, and permit deployment of the blades out one end of each respective housing for cutting operations. A utility knife is contained in one end of the housings, permitting yet another cutting blade or a single device.
