  • Patent number: 4919976
Abstract: Adhesive tapes comprised of a curable composition comprising: (A) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of ethylene/alphaolefin copolymer, ethylene/alphaolefin/nonconjugated polyene terpolymer, polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyisoprene, polyacrylonitrile, polymethacrylonitrile and polybutadiene, said polymer having a number average molecular weight of between about 500 and about 14,000; (B) an effective amount of curative having an activation temperature of at least about 100.degree. C; and (C) (optionally) a blowing agent possess admirable qualities for use as insulating compositions. Also disclosed are composites comprised of a substrate having cured insulating tape compositions adhered thereto.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 8, 1989
Date of Patent: April 24, 1990
    Assignee: Uniroyal Chemical Company, Inc.
Inventors: Frank C. Cesare, Robert G. Davis, William D. Sigworth
  • Patent number: 4888393
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel low profile additive (LPA) for uncured polyester resins and the resultant molding compositions. The low profile additive is the reaction product of an ethylene/alphaolefin copolymer with a carboxylic acid or anhydride, to thereby form a non-thermoplastic carboxyl modified polyolefin. The novel LPA is a remarkably effective dimensional stabilizer and has displayed the ability to achieve net expansion in a cured polyester resin molding composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 19, 1988
Date of Patent: December 19, 1989
    Assignee: Uniroyal Chemical Company, Inc.
Inventors: Frank C. Cesare, William P. Whelan, Jr., Henno A. Petersen, Thomas S. Coolbaugh, Robert G. Davis
  • Patent number: 4843128
Abstract: An elastomeric composition formed by curing a blend comprised of (A) between about 70 and about 94 phr of a highly unsaturated rubber; (B) between about 3 and about 27 phr of ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated diene terpolymer having a number average molecular weight of more than about 35,000; (C) between about 3 and about 27 phr of ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated diene terpolymer having a number average molecular weight of between about 500 and about 15,000; between about 2 and about 7.5 phr of a quinoline antioxidant; and (D) an effective amount of curative exhibit unexpectedly desirable ozone resistance. Also disclosed is a process for preparing such elastomeric compositions.
