Abstract: Methods and apparatus for fusing high-voltage electrical systems including fuse holding dry wells each of which includes a metallic outer wall, a fuse mount and a chimney tube located between the outer wall and a fuse in the mount. The dry wells may be mounted completely within an associated switchgear tank, partially within and partially without the associated tank, on the outer surface of the tank, or on structural means other than a switchgear tank.

Abstract: A high voltage load interrupter including an oil switch and a vacuum switch, an oil switch operating handle for manual operation of the oil switch, and a vacuum switch operating handle for manual operation of the vacuum switch, in which the oil switch operating handle and the vacuum switch operating handle are so located with respect to each other that the oil switch operating handle cannot be moved to its "switch open" position unless the vacuum switch operating handle is in its "switch open" position and the vacuum switch operating handle cannot be moved to its "switch closed" position unless the oil switch operating handle is in its "switch closed" position.

Abstract: Apparatus for lowering the seat or seat and lid of a flush toilet in response to the flushing of the toilet, including an impulse converter which is connected to a discharge pipe or port of the float valve of the toilet and serves to convert the water impulses resulting from the flushing of the toilet to air impulses for inflating a bladder which is positioned to impel the seat or seat and lid of the toilet out of the stable upright position when inflated. In particular versions of the disclosed apparatus the bladder is mounted between the front wall of the flush tank and the raised lid of the toilet and the air impulses are conveyed from the impulse converter located in the flush tank to the bladder by means of a tube which passes between the lid of the flush tank and the upper edge of the front wall of the flush tank.

Abstract: A short circuit protection system is disclosed in which a trip-free circuit breaker is combined with at least one current limiting fuse whereby to provide full range short circuit clearing capacity in voltage ranges in which full range fuses are not available or economical.

A fuse ferrule contact block is suspended in the insulating oil. The suspension for the contact block permits insulating oil to contact the contact block over its entire surface. An opening in the tank top large enough to accommodate the fuse is located adjacent the contact block. One ferrule of the fuse is provided with a cylindrical extension to contact the contact block. The other ferrule is provided with an extension on which is mounted a bushing well and a cover plate.

Abstract: A trip-free vacuum circuit breaker is disclosed in which one or more vacuum switches are closed and opened by a second toggle mechanism which is controlled by a first toggle mechanism, and a solenoid operated linkage moves the fixed pivot points of the second toggle mechanism, thereby opening the vacuum switches independently of the first toggle mechanism.
