  • Patent number: 6764850
Abstract: Contact plates are provided including a base member and a lid. The base member has a sidewall extending circumferentially around a peripheral edge portion thereof to define a sample receiving area. The lid has a sidewall extending circumferentially around a peripheral edge portion thereof. A plurality of ribs extend from an inner surface of the sidewall of the lid. The ribs are configured to provide an interference fit engagement between the sidewall of the base member and the sidewall of the lid when the lid is attached to the base member.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4932269
Abstract: A flow device is provided for sensing air flow and includes a body having at the opposite ends thereof coaxial bores. Counterbores extend inwardly from the coaxial bores and are interconnected by a restricted bore having lateral bores extending from opposite ends thereof to provide a pneumatic pressure drop. The bottom portions of the respective counterbores are relieved to provide a pair of troughs for water collection outside of the normal air flow area so that water can accumulate for an extended period of time before interferring with pressure drop readings.

  • Patent number: 4105730
Abstract: A method of making a thin-walled tubular container. The container defines a head portion with access means to the contents of the container, and a tail portion defining a sealed line in the tail portion, joining sides of the container into a sealed end with a flat plastic piece being formed integral with the sealed line and extending away therefrom. In accordance with this invention, a pair of spaced rod members are formed as an integral part of the flat, plastic piece, the rod members extending transversely of the longitudinal axis of the container. The flat plastic piece also defines a portion thereof between the rod members which is thinner than any remainder of the plastic piece spaced from the rod members. Accordingly, the rod members and intermediate portion therebetween provide an improved and stronger tail seal.

  • Patent number: 4096897
Abstract: A molded collapsible solution container which defines a body portion having an integral neck portion and a semi-rigid shoulder portion at one end thereof, and is sealed at its opposite end. In accordance with this invention, transverse lines of folding weakness are defined along opposite edges of the shoulder portion to facilitate the collapse of the container.

  • Patent number: 4090541
Abstract: A flexible, collapsible container having walls essentially 0.01 to 0.03 inch thick and defining relatively thin lines of folding weakness in the container to facilitate flat collapse. The thickness of the lines of folding weakness is less than that of the surrounding walls. The cross-sections of the lines of folding weakness define arcs, the outer surfaces of which have a circumferential length which is 40 to 60 percent greater than the direct width of the lines of folding weakness. Preferably, the container is made of a relatively stiff polyolefin plastic such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or copolymers thereof of similar stiffness, particularly biaxially oriented materials.

  • Patent number: 4076063
Abstract: A thin-walled tubular container and a mold for making it is disclosed. A novel method for making such containers is also shown.

  • Patent number: RE32065
Abstract: A molded collapsible solution container, which is made from a tubular, plastic parison, defines a body portion having an integral neck portion and shoulder portion at one end thereof. The container is sealed at its opposite end. The body portion defines, in as-molded configuration, a generally oval cross-section taken perpendicular to the axis of the container, adjacent the neck and shoulder portion. The cross-section tapers progressively to a flat configuration at the end of the container opposite to the neck and shoulder portion, which facilitates a uniform manner of flat collapsing of the container progressively from the opposite end toward the end adjacent the neck and shoulder portion as the contents thereof are withdrawn through the neck portion, when the container is disposed in neck downward position.
