  • Publication number: 20040014073
Abstract: The present invention refers to capsules encapsulating solid particles of signal-generating organic substances and carrying on the outer surface affinity molecules for specific recognition of and binding to target molecules in a sample. The invention is directed to the use of these capsules for signal production in the optical, electrochemical or chemical detection of target molecules. To obtain a signal the signal-generating organic substances are released and dissolved. A detection method and a kit are provided.

  • Publication number: 20020187197
Abstract: The invention is directed to (i) the encapsulation of uncharged organic substances in polymeric capsules by using a multi-step strategy that involves charging the surface of the microcrystals with an amphiphilic substance, followed by consecutively depositing polyelectrolytes of opposite charge to assemble a multilayered shell of polymeric material around the microcrystal template, and (ii) the formation of polymer multilayer cages derived from the coated crystals by facile removal of the crystalline template.

  • Patent number: 6047452
Abstract: A cylindrical shaped mandrel is used as a support inside the sleeve of tubular knit fabric, for maintaining the cylindrical shape of the fabric during extraction and compacting processes. Encasing the fabric and the mandrel is a larger diameter cylindrical ring member which presses the fabric against the mandrel in order to perform the extraction and compaction processes. The ring member extends for some distance in the longitudinal direction of travel of the knit fabric and contains a mechanism, such as a detent, for retaining the mandrel in place. A rope of tubular fabric is conveyed into the mandrel/ring assembly by an endless conveyor or belt made from a flexible material such as rubber. As the fabric is fed onto the mandrel, the belt forms a cylindrical sleeve around the fabric and the mandrel and is compressed by the cylindrical ring.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4031501
Abstract: The described apparatus employs successive correlations of stored signal a in providing azimuth information to physically locate a given signal source. The correlations are performed automatically using digital processing techniques so as to enable the azimuth information to be obtained substantially in real time.
