  • Patent number: 5466269
Abstract: The present invention provides cubic boron nitride abrasives with individual grains of a larger grain size and higher aspect ratios when compared to conventional polycrystalline CBN. These CBN abrasives are obtained from large particle ideal structure hexagonal boron nitride particles of a size 10-1000 .mu.m. These CBN abrasives can be used as particulates or as a compact mass and give improved wear performance over abrasive tools made with conventional CBN abrasives at reduced specific grinding energies.
