  • Publication number: 20080190505
Abstract: A pipe hanger system includes a pair of brackets and a pipe connection member selectively slidable along the brackets. The brackets each preferably include an elongate leg and a foot extending outwardly from the leg at a first end thereof. The leg of each bracket is preferably longer than the distance between the building members. The feet of the brackets are first fastened to an inside surface of the first building member. The pipe connection member can then be slid into the desired position and fastened in place. The legs of the brackets are then bent outwardly and secured to the inside surface of the second building member.

  • Patent number: 7207530
Abstract: A pipe hold-down for securing a pipe to a building member includes a back having a base end, a distal end, and a fastener receiving aperture extending therethrough from the distal end to the base end. A claw extends outwardly from the back proximate the distal end thereof and curves toward the base end. A leg extends outwardly from the back proximate the base end thereof is more flexible than the back and bendable relative thereto. An opening is defined between a distal end of the claw and the leg. The leg is bendable between a normal position and a pipe admitting position wherein the leg is bent outwardly away from the claw, in the normal position the opening is substantially narrower than the outside diameter of the pipe and in the pipe admitting position the opening is at least as wide as the outside diameter of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 7197777
Abstract: A flexible, plastic collar for sealing the space between a water supply line or pipe and a wall aperture, the collar including an annular, generally conical surface, a convex front face, a concave rear face, a centered opening provided with a sleeve for receiving and sealing against the pipe, a tapered edge for sealing against the wall and an annular ridge for preventing over-deflection of the collar when pressed against the wall.

  • Patent number: 6901716
Abstract: A one piece ground stake for securing drain, waste or vent pipe relative to the ground comprises a wire rod bent to form a hook having a ground engaging shank, a pipe engaging bend or cradle and a connecting leg connected between the pipe engaging bend and the shank by upper and lower connecting bends. The upper connecting bend extends above the lower connecting bend and is adapted to be struck by a hammer or the like to drive a lower end of the shank into the ground. The stake is driven into the ground until the cradle abuts against an upper surface of a pipe positioned on a bed of gravel, sand or the ground at a selected grade and position.

  • Patent number: 6769291
Abstract: A pressure test cap includes a mounting collar with an outer rib to limit depth of insertion of the cap into a pipe. A closure disc which seals the mounting collar is connected to the collar through an inner rim by a weakened ring. An outer rim section registers with the inner rim so that impacts to the outer rim are transferred to the weakened ring to separate the disc from the collar. The closure disc includes a centrally positioned nipple for connection of a conduit of a pressurized test fluid source. The nipple is closed by a break-away nipple plug. The nipple plug has a centrally located indentation for piercing to bleed trapped air from the system and resealing by a screw.

  • Patent number: 6460432
Abstract: A tool for installing a first end of a bent tubular shower arm into a female threaded receiver is disclosed. The tool comprises a shaft having a diameter sized to fit within the shower arm through a second end thereof. The shaft is preferably bent at an angle which is generally complimentary to the angle of the bend in the shower arm. A first end of the shaft is shaped to engage the interior of the shower arm proximate the bend therein to prevent the tool from rotating relative to the shower arm. A second end of the shaft includes a fork having a pair of prongs separated by a gap sized and shaped to accept a stub out of water supply line extending outwardly from a wall. The prongs are used to push a compression fit adapter along the stub out and into an installed position adjacent the wall.

  • Patent number: 6402096
Abstract: A plumbing slider bracket and ratchet arm conduit clamp includes a slider bracket with an inner bracket section which is telescopically received within an outer bracket section such that it is slidable back and forth within the outer bracket section to make an extendable slider bracket. Flexible tabs extending from either end of the slider bracket allow attachment of the bracket to an outer stud surface, or within the stud spacing in any desired orientation. Each ratchet arm conduit clamp is received by the slider bracket and is movable along the length of the slider bracket until a conduit is clamped therein. The clamping action both secures the conduit in place within the clamp, and also forces a resilient insert downward against the bottom wall of the slider bracket to anchor the clamp in position within the slider bracket.

  • Patent number: 6378912
Abstract: A system and method for installing plumbing spouts, such as shower heads and tub spouts, includes providing a stub out which protrudes out of a wall at shower height. A specialized adapter is then slid onto the protruding stub out until the adapter abuts the wall. The adapter is internally threaded with an integral ferrule, and may also be equipped with a one-way gripper ring and an O-ring to sealingly secure the spout to the stub out. The stub out, if closed, is then cut off outside the adapter and a standard shower arm or nipple for a tub spout is threaded into the adapter. A threaded end of the shower arm or nipple engages the ferrule and compresses it against the stub out creating a seal therebetween. When installing a shower head, an escutcheon plate is adapted to be slid over the shower arm to engage peripheral fingers of the adapter to secure the escutcheon in place. A shower head is then threaded onto the shower arm to complete the installation.

  • Patent number: 5303887
Abstract: A universal pipe support and hanger system comprising a single support member of generally I-shaped cross-section elongated in a first direction between a proximate end and a distal end, and comprising an elongated central web integrally connected with midpoints of first and second flanges extending substantially at right angles to the web, in a second direction. The proximate end has an L-shaped flange for mounting the single support member against a flat surface or a DMV in at least two orthogonal directions. Upper and lower edges of each flange comprise v-shaped cradles to support pipes extending in a third direction. A plurality of septa extend between opposed inner surfaces of said first and second flanges, on either side of the web, so as to define compartments.
