  • Patent number: 5254122
Abstract: A slide fastener splicing band for use in splicing a therapeutic compression device embodying a plurality of parallel compression bands for applying compression to a body or a limb and from which intermediate portions of the compression bands are removed to shorten them to the desired lengths for encompassing the body or limb to which compression is to be applied. A therapeutic compression device embodying a slide fastener splicing tape to facilitate removal of the therapeutic compression device from the body or limb and reapplication of the device to the body or limb.

  • Patent number: 5120300
Abstract: A compression band including male and female connectors and a length of compression band integrally connected to one of the connectors so that the compression band can be quickly and easily applied and removed by preassembling the male and female connectors so that the preassembled compression band can be encompassed about a body, limb or object and fastened in place by adhering inner fastening surfaces of the preassembled connectors to the outer fastening surface of the compression band. The desired tension can then be applied by separating free ends of the connectors, tensioning the band and reapplying the free ends against the outer fastening surface of the band.

  • Patent number: 4215687
Abstract: A combination or kit for making a body or limb encircling therapeutic device which includes a plurality of body or limb encircling bands, each individually adjustable for length to apply the desired pressure or provide desired support to the body or limb of humans or animals and a band anchoring tape long enough to bridge two or more adjacent bands and to maintain them in proper edge-to-edge relationship. The combination or kit also includes a plurality of splicing elements having an interlocking fabric material on one surface which interlocks with interlocking fabric on the outer surface of the band and on one surface of the anchoring tape so that in the event it is necessary to cut the band angularly to obtain conformity of the band with body or limb contour to shorten the band by removing a span thereof, the band ends with the band anchoring tape between them can be locked together by the application of the splicing element.

  • Patent number: 4053758
Abstract: An underwater swimming pool illumination system includes a lighting assembly having a lamp unit installed within its rear portion in a waterproof enclosure; and the lamp is connected to a low voltage battery. The waterproof enclosure may be at the bottom of a strut in an inverted L-shaped assembly, where the upper portion is a base which is fitted to a pad by a bayonet-type connection. The battery may be installed in the base, in which case the lighting assembly may be removed away from the pool to have the battery charged; or the battery may be remotely installed with a wire connection to the pad and lighting assembly. In either case, the installation is such that the lamp is completely electrically isolated from any alternating or ripple currents; either by physically removing the lamp from the pool for battery charging, or by a DPDT switch which either connects the battery to the lamp or to the charging circuit. This, in either case the battery is charged in a place remote from the swimming pool.
