Abstract: A data structure defining two-level identification allows the integration of mobile instant messaging to Internet based instant messaging, for instance, by providing an identification of both a user of the IM system (IM user) and an IM client used to access an IM system (IM client). The client may be a hardware device, software, or a combination thereof. A method, a terminal device with the client installed, a server and a system are shown for communicating such identification information between the terminal device and the server with a primitive having such two-level identification contained in information elements.

Services may be locally, remotely or manually provisioned within a mobile terminal and may be viewed by an end user of the mobile terminal after being filtered by context. The filtered list of services being accessible from a service panel of the mobile terminal, whereby the mere selection of the service allows execution of the service at the mobile terminal using the appropriate underlying communication technology with no further interaction required from the end user.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for delivering multimedia content within the mobile world is provided. One embodiment is based on the definition of a smart content object, or content package format, along with provision for specifying meta-information about the digital rights associated with the content. The format is defined in terms of two alternative MIME content subtypes. The first is defined for delivering clear-text, XML representation of the content package. The other is defined for deliverying binary, WBXML representation of the content package. The clear-text MIME type is useful in robust network environments that are not sensitive to limitations, such as were bandwidth can be a limiting factor on application deployment (e.g., the mobile world).
