Abstract: A gate valve has a first housing having a passageway therethrough, a valve member, and a cable pull mechanism. The valve member is moveable in the housing to selectively open and close the passageway to selectively permit and restrict flow through the passageway. The cable pull mechanism includes a cable sheath, a cable, and a second housing. The cable sheath has a first end, a second end, a passageway extending from the first end to the second end, and a recess. The cable extends through the passageway of the cable sheath and has a first end connected to the valve member and a second end. The second housing has clamping mechanism having a projection located in the recess of the cable sheath.

The actuator has a linear actuator having a housing, a shaft selectively extendable from and retractable into the housing, a motor, and a bracket for connecting the linear actuator to the valve member. The bracket has a first pair of opposed slots having a length, and a second pair of opposed slots having a length greater than the length of the first pair of opposed slots. A securement mechanism selectively secures the connecting member between either the first pair of opposed slots or the second pair of opposed slots.
