  • Publication number: 20240125192
Abstract: A regulator valve has a check valve manifold for use in subsea control circuits. For example, the regulator valve having the check valve manifold can be used in a circuit between a directional control valve and an actuator for a gate valve. The check valve manifold can have a flange that attaches to the regulator valve to communicate with the supply-side and outlet-side of the regulator valve. Internal communication inside the manifold includes a check valve. If the pressure in the circuit downstream of the regulator valve needs to be vented, the check valve can open to allow the pressure to bleed from the outlet-side back to the supply-side without needing to pass through the internal pressure control valve of the regulator.

  • Patent number: 7667190
Abstract: A control mechanism pins an optical fiber assembly on and off gimbal and between gimbals to route the assembly from an off-gimbal optical source across the gimbal axis/axes to an on-gimbal optical element so that the fiber assembly moves with the rotation of the gimbals. To accommodate a relatively large range of motion, the control mechanism is suitably configured to route the fiber assembly in a “U-shaped” loop with one end pinned off-gimbal in a stationary guide track and the other end pinned on-gimbal point in a rotating guide track so that the loose fiber assembly is constrained in the concentric tracks on and off gimbal. As the gimbal rotates, the loop seats onto one guiding track and peels off of the other guiding track while always maintaining its U shape.

  • Patent number: 6139044
Abstract: An integrated bumper and hitch assembly is disclosed that integrates a bumper and a weight distributing hitch into a single unit. The integrated assembly includes a square, tubular socket for supporting and receiving a weight distributing hitch. A pair of outer struts are secured to a transverse arm at the corners of the bumper and hitch assembly. The outer struts support the corners of the bumper against vertical deflection and provide corner impact resistance. The bumper and hitch assembly includes three degree-of-freedom adjustability when attaching to a vehicle, thereby allowing the assembly to be properly aligned with the vehicle in three different directions. A cover over the hitch and another cover over the top of the bumper conceal the fasteners used to secure the assembly together and provide an overall pleasing exterior.

  • Patent number: 6012636
Abstract: A multiple application card data system comprises a data management device and a user card. The user card includes a first memory for storing provider data, and a second memory, separated from the first memory, for storing data unique to a user. The data management device compares a unique set of user data on the device with the data on the second memory of the user card for identification of the proper user card. The device also includes a stored digital representation of the user's fingerprint and a fingerprint scanner for imaging of a fingerprint for comparison with the digital representation of the user's fingerprint for identification of the proper user. A memory in the device stores copies of data from a plurality of provider data cards. The device enables transfer and storage of the data of one provider on the first memory of the user card, making the user card an effective clone of that provider's data card. The provider data on the first memory can be re-encoded as desired.

  • Patent number: 5319349
Abstract: Accessory components aid in preventing loss of a pager of the type that emits an audible and/or visual signal in response to radio signals and which has a clip member pivoted to the pager housing for attaching the pager to another article and a clip tensioning spring which acts to pivot the member towards the housing. In the preferred form, one such component positions an auxiliary spring between the housing and clip member to supplement the force of the pager tensioning spring and enables adjustment of the auxiliary spring force to compensate for a weakened tensioning spring. Another component emits a perceptible signal when the clip member is pivoted outward from the housing to detect accidental dislodgment or theft of the pager.

  • Patent number: 5063624
Abstract: A mobile hospital stretcher includes a movably supported base, and two spaced hydraulic cylinders on the base which vertically movably support a support member having an upwardly facing support surface. Separate control systems are provided for the hydraulic cylinders, one of which is electrically powered and the other of which is mechanically powered. The electrically powered system includes an electrically actuable valve for selectively bleeding fluid from one of the cylinders, an electrically actuable pump for supplying fluid to the other cylinder, a limit arrangement which produces a signal when the first cylinder is fully retracted, a manually operable switch for electrically actuating the valve, and an arrangement responsive to the presence of the first signal during actuation of the switch for electrically actuating the pump.

  • Patent number: 4556882
Abstract: A remote control circuit breaker and contactor system having at least one I/O circuit functioning as an interface between a central processing unit and a plurality of up to 32 devices such as remote circuit breakers for each I/O circuit, each remote circuit breaker having an individual electronic circuit which receives commands from the I/O circuit to turn the breaker or contactor on or off or hold and also senses the state of the breaker contacts and the control line and upon request sends back status codes which are stored in the memory in the I/O circuit to be read when desired by the central processing unit. Four-state status information is provided including open, closed, tripped and problem (low voltage, open or shorted control line). Contact state is determined by directly measuring the contact resistance in single break contacts (or solid state device contactors) or the contact voltage in double-break contacts.

  • Patent number: 4247328
Abstract: A concentrate for dilution with water to obtain a fountain solution for lithographic printing comprises a lithographic desensitizing material dissolved in a vehicle liquid comprising an organic solvent liquid optionally in admixture with water. Preferred desensitizing materials are organo substituted ammonium salts of desensitizing acids and a preferred organic solvent liquid is isopropyl alcohol. The fountain solution obtained on dilution of the concentrate may be used with printing machines having integrated damping/inking equipment.
