  • Patent number: 4325463
Abstract: A sawhorse having an elongated support member; a pair of elongated support rest bracket members; at least one pair of facing channel members bound to each of the support rest bracket members; a mounting bolt secured within and between the mounting bolt aperture of each facing channel member; a pair of sawhorse leg bracket members pivotally slidably disposed to each mounting bolt and each securing an end of a sawhorse leg; and a helical spring mounted around each of the mounting bolts and between each of the pair of leg bracket members. A process for collapsing a sawhorse for storing and/or transporting the same comprising compressing the helical spring on each mounting bolt by inwardly pivoting each pair of sawhorse legs; clearing the sawhorse leg bracket members out of the channels of the channel members; aligning the legs in a general relationship; and rotating each pair of legs towards the underside of the elongated support member.

  • Patent number: 4315632
Abstract: A hand truck has a frame; a pair of rotating bars rotatably attaching to the frame. Each bar includes a wheel rotatably attached thereon, a handle attached to one end of the bar and a first gear connected to the other end. Handle release and locking members are attached to the frame and lock the wheels and the handle either in an outward operative position or in a closed storing position. A support bar is rotatably connected to the frame. A second gear is attached to each end of the support bar and meshes with the first gear on each side of the pair of rotating bars. A load support plate is bound to the support bar in order to support a load when the wheels and handle are in the outward operative position.

  • Patent number: 4274644
Abstract: A hand truck having a platform; a pair of wheel-connecting bars rotatably attaching to the platform; a plurality of wheels connecting to the bars, at least two of the wheels being rotatable thereon; and a handle member pivotally connecting at two points on an end of the platform and circumscribing three sides of the perimeter of the platform when the handle member is in a closed position. A handle release and locking means attaches to the platform and locks the handle member either in an open or in a closed position. The wheels fold up underneath the platform and lie horizontally with respect thereto when the handle member is in the closed position.
