  • Publication number: 20140208593
Abstract: A method for producing a composite rolling bearing (1) having a bearing flange (3) and at least one rolling bearing (4, 5) held on the bearing flange (3) by an inner ring (6, 7). In order to be able to fix the inner ring (7) on the bearing flange (3) with axial preloading without expansion, the inner ring (7) is acted upon by a holding-down device (23) that radially holds down the inner ring (7) and is preloaded against the inner ring (7) by a regulated axial force (F), and, by way of an advancing cone (21) introduced radially on the inside axially into the bearing flange (3), material (11) present on the bearing flange (3) is displaced radially towards the outside into a recessed formation (15, 16) in the inner ring (7).

  • Patent number: 8714830
Abstract: A wheel bearing unit which has an outer ring, one or two inner rings and load-transmitting rolling elements arranged between the two rings. An orbitally formed shoulder of a wheel hub is provided for the pre-stressing of the wheel bearing unit via the inner ring, and a toothed ring which has an outward-facing radial tooth system is arranged on the inner ring, as is usual in wheel bearing units with all-wheel drive capability. The wheel bearing unit has a small axial width which benefits the handling characteristics of a vehicle by attaching the toothed ring to the orbitally formed shoulder and transmitting the drive torques via this attachment. Welding and a plastically formed tooth system on the orbitally formed shoulder are proposed as examples of such fastening.

  • Publication number: 20110293213
Abstract: An angular ball bearing, in particular wheel bearing, with at least two rows of load-bearing rolling bodies and a hollow-cylindrical section arranged between two rolling body inner raceways. Inner rims are arranged at transitions from the hollow-cylindrical section to the rolling body inner raceways. The ball bearing is impactproof. This is achieved in that an annular element is arranged in, for example pressed into, the hollow-cylindrical section, axial force is transmitted between the rolling bodies of adjacent rows of rolling bodies, and a Brinelling of the raceway outlets and of the raceways is reduced or even prevented. The annular element may be an independent component or an annular element which is integrated in the outer ring, for which instructions regarding the required conditions are provided.

  • Publication number: 20100322545
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for sealing rolling bearings. The sealing arrangement has a carrier ring for carrying an elastic part which has a radial sealing lip, and therefore a second ring which is movable relative to the carrier ring. The second ring has a cylindrical part provided as a radial seat for the radial sealing lip. A first installation aid is integrally formed on the radial sealing lip and prevents the radial sealing lip from becoming fixed on a second ring, such as, for example, a spinning ring, by ensuring that the radial sealing lip expands at the right time.
