  • Patent number: 6446810
Abstract: A pack of self-opening bags with a front, rear, and co-joined side walls, with front and rear tabs extending from top edges of the front and rear walls. The tabs have a curved aperture slits therein, and the tabs are frangibly adhered together with contact adhesive. The slit has a main cut section, a first curved end section at one end, and a second curved end section at the opposite end. The first curved section has a curve that extends upwardly and inwardly from the main cut section. The second curved section has a substantially semi-circular curve that extends from the main cut section in a direction towards the bottom edge of the tab and has an end that is substantially perpendicular to and adjacent the main cut section. In one embodiment, the first curved section is dashed.

  • Patent number: 6438928
Abstract: A device for use in boxing pliable objects having a footprint into boxes. The boxing device includes a trapdoor unit, a box conveying unit, a tamping unit, and a control unit. The trapdoor unit has coplanar sliding trays that are adapted to be rapidly and simultaneously moved apart from a horizontal closed position, wherein the trays are close together with each, to a horizontal opened position, wherein the trays are slid apart by a distance sufficiently large to pass the footprint of the plurality of objects and permit the objects to fall therethrough in a flat manner into open boxes below. The box conveying unit moves empty open boxes to a position underneath the trapdoor unit. The tamping unit has tamping plates which tamps the objects into the box, and the control unit which controls the operation of the trapdoor unit, the box conveying unit, and the tamping unit.

  • Patent number: 6435350
Abstract: A pack of self-opening plastic bags adapted for use with a bagging rack. Each plastic bag preferably has an extension portion extending above an open mouth of the bag. At least one bag pack suspension aperture is formed at an upper region of the bag and is adapted for use in suspending the bag pack on a bagging rack. A carrying handle aperture is formed through an upper region of the bag pack. Areas of compression bonds are formed adjacent upper regions of the bag pack, the handle carrying apertures, and/or the suspension aperture.

The second curved section has a substantially semicircular curve that extends from the main cut section in a direction towards the bottom edge of the tab and has an end that is substantially perpendicular to and adjacent the main cut section. In one embodiment, the first curved section is dashed.

  • Patent number: 5967962
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and pack of tabless, self-opening bags with flapless aperture cutouts pack. In the apparatus and method, cylindrical dies connected to a vacuum source are used to cut out plugs of holes, and the plugs are evacuated to a receptacle. Compression bars, or a relatively shallow bevel cut on the cylindrical die, are used to form area of frangible bonding in the central tab portion of the bag pack. The pack of tabless, self-opening bags with flapless aperture cutouts has no flap portions which might inadvertently detach from bag pack.

  • Patent number: 5469969
Abstract: A self-opening pack of plastic bags for use with a bagging rack. The pack of plastic bags is formed of plastic material which has been exposed to corona surface treatment. Each plastic bag in the pack of bags has a central tab portion between its two upwardly extending handles, which are at the sides of the mouth of the T-shirt bags. A central tab portion is located on the front and rear walls in the mouth region of the plastic bags. The central tab portion has an aperture for receiving a retaining hook of a bagging rack, and a tearing cut which extends across the central tab portion, except for uncut portions near side edges of the central tab. The tearing cuts pass through the stack of bags and follow a non-straight path. Frangible pressure bonding is found along both sides of said tearing cut. Frangible pressure bonds are also formed on inner handle edges or edges of apertures or flaps formed in the stack of handles.

  • Patent number: 5213145
Abstract: A semi-automatic T-shirt bag bagging rack and bags for use therewith. The bagging rack has a stationary rear wall with two spaced apart hooks and a tab receiving member. A support base is attached to the stationary rear wall. A movable front frame member moves between a first position distant from the stationary wall and a second position adjacent thereto. The movable front frame member has an upper planar member which is substantially parallel to the stationary rear wall and has a tacky rubber sheet member affixed thereto facing the stationary rear wall. A stack of T-shirt bags having a central tab with a central tab slit and a tab tearing slit cut therethrough and "C"-shaped cuts located near the inside edges of the handles are first loaded on the bagging rack by slipping the central tab slit of the stack of bags over the tab engaging member and by looping the "C"-shaped cuts on the handles onto the hooks on the rear wall.
