  • Patent number: 4417430
Abstract: The panel fastener includes an externally driven crank having a first pin slidably engaging a first cam surface formed on a hook member. A second pin fixed on said hook member slidably engages a second cam surface having a fixed position. Rotation of said crank on center axis induces cam action causing said hook member to first rotate and then retract. Thereby, the hook member when located on one panel can engage a pin fixed on an independent second panel and join and draw together said panels. Alignment of the pins and crank axis prevents loosening or disengagement of the joined panels without intentional reverse operation of the crank.

  • Patent number: 4215449
Abstract: A self-closing, non-rising hinge in cartridge form fits into a socket, generally, in the upper edge of a door. The hinge mechanism is completely enclosed within a housing and provides a strong returning force for closing a door. The hinge is reversible in that it can be mounted for opening the door either from the left or from the right. Where two doors are present, one above the other, as in refrigerators, the hinge may be inserted, in inverted position, into the lower edge of the door to minimize space requirements.

  • Patent number: 4205867
Abstract: An edgemounted latch mechanism that is tamper-resistant is provided. An internal locking mechanism is adapted to lock simultaneously both a locking arm and a catch assembly. The catch assembly is constantly forced against a keeper member to assure a constant seal of the door to its gasket or door frame. The mechanism has provision for insertion of an external lock such as a padlock in order to secure the handle with respect to the latch housing and with respect to the locking arm.

  • Patent number: 4030161
Abstract: A hinge having stationary and turnable components which respectively carry cams which cooperate with each other to displace the turnable component upwardly with respect to the stationary component during opening movement while permitting the turnable component to move downwardly with respect to the stationary component during closing movement. In addition, a spring structure acts on the turnable component to urge the latter to carry out its closing movement with respect to the stationary component.
