  • Publication number: 20100294681
Abstract: The golf bag provides a golf bag for carrying golf clubs, allowing the user to remove the golf clubs through a slot formed through a wall thereof, rather than through the conventional upper opening. The golf bag includes a base having upper and lower surfaces, the lower surface being adapted for placement on the ground. An internal frame structure may be mounted to the upper surface of the base, and the internal frame structure supports an external wall. The internal frame defines an open interior region for receiving at least one golf club, and an open upper end of the external wall communicates with the open interior region. The slot is formed through a front portion of the external wall, and extends from the open upper end to a central region of the external wall.

  • Patent number: 5577726
Abstract: A putter type golf club includes an arrangement for altering the lie angle between the shaft and the club head body. The hosel is formed with a lower flange member which fits into and is pivotably moveable within a slot formed in the top of the club head body. A set screw, cooperating with a series of depressions, locks the hosel flange member in a preselected position.

  • Patent number: 5484519
Abstract: A revolvable rack for neckties that can be either temporarily or permanently hooked or fastened to a rod or a store fixture, and a container for shipping the rack while it is fully loaded with ties. The rack is easily rotated by hand, has a relatively small turning radius and has the capacity to hold several dozen ties. Once the tie rack is placed in the container, the container serves to both store and protect the ties in an organized and out-of-the-way manner. The tie rack and container combination can be hung together in an existing space. The container allows the fully loaded tie rack to be quickly and easily lifted out of the container in one smooth motion, and directly hung on a rod or on a merchandising fixture in a store without the use of special tools or equipment, such that the ties are readily and pleasingly displayed.

  • Patent number: 5377983
Abstract: A golf club head having a sole configuration comprising a four-way diamond cut wherein the extremity of the sole is a peak substantially centrally located on the keel of the sole with four adjacent planar surfaces angled upwardly and outwardly toward the body of the club head. The four surfaces form four linear junction lines extending angularly upward away from the peak.

  • Patent number: 5290032
Abstract: A set of golf club irons, each iron including a striking face, a cavity in the back of the club, and a vibration dampening support bar extending between the lower and upper edges and within the cavity. The distance between the center of the support bar to the end of the cavity at the heel of the iron decreases from the less-lofted irons through the more lofted irons. The center of gravity of all of the clubs is substantially at the center of the striking face of the club.

  • Patent number: 5221087
Abstract: A wood type golf club formed of a shaft and head assembly, the head assembly including a hollow main body portion and an insert coupled thereto along the majority of its periphery by a dovetail to preclude lateral and downward movement of the insert with respect to the main body portion, the main body portion having a ramp extending outwardly from its face with the adjacent face of the insert having a recess positioned to receive the ramp thereby precluding the movement of the insert upwardly away from the main body portion and further including an adhesive coupling the insert to the main body portion.

  • Patent number: 5093162
Abstract: A composite golf club shaft and the method of constructing the shaft is disclosed. The hollow circular shaft includes a standard butt end having a constant outside diameter along a length of the shaft and a tip end having a constant outside diameter sustantially larger than the tip of a standard shaft, with the constant diameter of the tip end and butt end extending along predetermined lengths of the shaft. An intermediate section of the shaft tapers between the diameters of the butt and tip ends. The shaft is manufactured by wrapping a group of circumferential sections about a mandrel, each layer comprising either standard modulus carbon-graphite fibers or fiberglass fibers in a matrix, with the finished product being heat-cured to produce a golf club shaft.

  • Patent number: 5022652
Abstract: An improved steel golf shaft formed in a generally cylindrical configuraiton with a tip end and a butt end, the shaft having a central aperture extending axially the entire length thereof, three sets of steps continuously decreasing in diameter externally and internally from the butt end to the tip end, the steps of the central set being spaced from each other by a distance greater than the distance between the steps of the other sets. Also disclosed are the matched sets of clubs, woods and irons, employing such shafts as well as their methods of fabrication.

  • Patent number: 4986844
Abstract: Each section (10) of the machine comprises a parison moulding apparatus (12), a final moulding apparatus (14) and an invert mechanism (16). The invert mechanism is driven by a servo-motor (108) connected to a gear (100, 102) secured to an end portion of a neck ring support (90, 92) of the invert mechanism away from the center-line of the section. The baffle mechansim (32) of the parison moulding apparatus (12) is mounted on an overhead structure (22) and the mould portions (62) of the final moulding apparatus (14) are moved in a straight line to open and close the moulds. By these measures, the center-line of the section (10) is cleared enabling the radius of the invert mechanism (16) to be reduced.
