Patents by Inventor Frank Fiedler, Jr.

Frank Fiedler, Jr. has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4286768
Abstract: The invention is a pressure responsive shut-off valve including a valve housing that defines a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet separated by a valve seat. A valve closure accommodated by the valve seat moves between open and closed positions to control fluid flow between the inlet and outlet. Controlling the valve is a valve operator including a pressure responsive piston that moves between a set position in which the valve closure is separated from the valve seat and a release position in which the closure is seated on the seat to prevent fluid flow between the inlet and outlet. Retaining the piston is a magnetic plunger that defines an activating volume communicating with the inlet and establishing on one face of the piston a fluid pressure forcing the piston toward its release position, and a reference volume communicating with the inlet and establishing on the opposite face of the piston a reference volume.

  • Patent number: 4180241
Abstract: A combined solenoid operated valve and shut-off device including a valve housing defining a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a valve seat therebetween. Located within the housing is a valve closure movable between a closed position in which fluid flow between the inlet and outlet is prevented and an open position wherein such flow is permitted. Controlling movement of the valve closure is a valve operator that includes a magnetic plunger for cycling the valve closure between open and closed positions in response to an electrical signal and a shut-off mechanism activatable to lock the valve closure in its closed position in response to a predetermined fluid pressure at the inlet. After activation of the shut-off mechanism, reopening of the valve to initiate fuel flow between the inlet and outlet requires actuation of a manual reset device.

  • Patent number: 4026314
Abstract: A high pressure safety valve which automatically closes when high pressure conditions exist. The high pressure valve includes a diaphragm valve and a snap acting assembly connected to the diaphragm valve which acts to snap it closed when a high pressure condition is detected. The safety valve of the present invention may also include a relief valve which opens when the diaphragm valve closes to relieve pressure at the outlet of the safety valve. In addition, the safety valve of the present invention can be manually reset only after the high pressure condition has been corrected.
