Patent number: 11974891Abstract: A method is provided for producing a dental prosthesis from a blank using a CAD/CAM device, wherein the blank consists partially of base material and partially of tooth material, and a boundary surface between these materials is formed as a wave, the wave crests and wave valleys of which alternate with each other along the outer periphery of the blank. The apex of each wave crest extends substantially radially with respect to the blank. The CAD/CAM device fixes the position of a retention part, which serves to fasten the prosthesis to the alveolar crest of a patient, in particular of an external telescope, of a cover of a bar, or of an abutment in the prosthesis in such a way that it passes through the boundary surface. The retention part is fastened by means of gluing or incorporation by polymerisation.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2021Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Ivoclar Vivadent AGInventors: Clemens Andreas Häfele, Roger Frei, Konrad Hagenbuch, Markus Geier, Frank Frenzel

Patent number: 11684462Abstract: A dental prosthesis is provided, manufactured from a one-piece or multi-piece prosthesis blank which is composed of a gum-colored material (14) and a tooth-colored material (14), especially each one being based on plastic material. The tooth-colored material (14) of the blank (10) has a diameter or a width of more than 5 cm and especially a substantially flat cylindrical shape with a diameter/height ratio of more than 2:1, preferably more than 3:1. The gum-colored and tooth-colored materials (14, 12) are bonded together by bonding, polymerization and/or integral production. The boundary (16) between the materials, as viewed in the direction of the dental arch course, is wave-shaped with alternating grooves and ribs (22, 24), and in the region of the anterior arch in the vestibular direction—is of radiant shape.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2019Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: Ivoclar Vivadent AGInventors: Markus Geier, Frank Frenzel, Thomas Baaske, Roger Frei

Publication number: 20230118604Abstract: A dental prosthesis is provided, manufactured from a monobloc or multibloc prosthesis blank (10), which is composed of a gum-colored material (14) and a tooth-colored material (12), which materials (12, 14) are bonded to each other by bonding, polymerization and/or one-piece manufacture. The boundary surface (16) between the materials is wave-shaped comprising alternating grooves (22) and ribs (24) in the course of the dental arch, and radial in an oral-vestibular direction in the region of the anterior teeth (33) to be created. The boundary surface (16), at least in the region of the molars (26)—again as viewed in the oral vestibular direction—has parallel grooves (22) and ribs (24) forming troughs and crests of the waveform, or grooves (22) and ribs (24) such that they extend in deviation from parallel by at most 10 degrees, in particular at most 5 degrees, at least in the region of the molars (26).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2022Publication date: April 20, 2023Inventors: Markus Geier, Frank Frenzel, Thomas Baaske, Roger Frei

Publication number: 20230112311Abstract: A computerized method of generating an automated control pathway for a user interface includes displaying a graphical development environment having a palette area and multiple graphical programming elements, displaying a user selected question programming element and multiple associated pathway branches in the palette area, and assigning a received answer field to one of the branches. The method includes associating a selected determination programming element with one of the branches, and assigning a status value to the selected determination programming element that includes a drug request approval indication or a drug request denial indication. The method further includes running the automated control pathway to receive, via the user interface, an answer to a question associated with the selected question programming element, determining one of the branches associated with the received answer, and automatically transmitting an approval status or a denial status according to the determined branch.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2021Publication date: April 13, 2023Inventors: John Covert, David Spangler, Frank Frenzel, William A. Moore, Scott Betzel
