  • Publication number: 20080309455
Abstract: In some of these approaches, a first fingerprint of a first user is stored in a memory and the transmission of an activation code is authorized. Subsequently, the first fingerprint is re-sensed and authenticated and a second fingerprint of a second user is responsively sensed and stored. The activation code is transmitted to the moveable barrier operator upon subsequent authenticating of the second fingerprint. Subsequently, the second fingerprint is re-sensed and authenticated and a third fingerprint of a third user is responsively sensed and stored. The activation code is transmitted to the moveable barrier operator upon subsequent authenticating of the third fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 6902495
Abstract: A golf club vibration dampening and sound attenuation system including an elongated shaft, a club head, a resilient insert assembly, a dampener, and a grip. The shaft has a distal shaft end and a proximal shaft end. The club head is coupled to the distal shaft end, and includes a front wall and a sole portion. The front wall has a rearwardly sloped front strike side and a rear side. The sole portion rearwardly extends from a lower region of the rear side. The rear side and the sole portion define a cavity and a recess. The recess downwardly extends into the sole portion. A resilient insert assembly is positioned in and substantially fills the recess. The insert assembly is coupled to one or both of the sole portion and the lower region. The dampener is disposed within the shaft and has at least one annular radially extending projection.

  • Patent number: 5971865
Abstract: A golf club shaft is provided with increased torsional stiffness by making the outside diameter of the tip end larger. The torsional stiffness per unit weight of the shaft is greater than the torsional stiffness per unit weight of prior shafts. The shaft can be attached to a clubhead by inserting the tip end over a male hosel or over a shaft adapter which is attached to a female hosel.

  • Patent number: 5749798
Abstract: In a racket for tennis or the like games having a frame for receiving stringing and comprising a possibly hollow profile bar, and a handle end which is of polygonal cross-section and which is wound around with a grip strip and whose blank is provided at the corners of the cross-section with longitudinal edges separating each two longitudinal surfaces, the longitudinal edges are raised relative to their longitudinal surfaces. Preferably for that purpose longitudinal ribs extend at the longitudinal edges, the ribs being formed on the handle blank or being fixedly connected thereto in another manner.

  • Patent number: 5675958
Abstract: An operating mechanism for the seal jaw in a package wrapping machine has an operating arm with means along its length to alter the length of the arm between two finite positions. The arrangement is such that the operating arm for the sealing jaw in the package wrapping machine can be controlled so that it can open to a higher position for large packages and yet also open to a shorter position for less high packages, thus, speeding up the operation of the machine so that it can accept a greater number of packages for any given length of time.

  • Patent number: 5540434
Abstract: A tennis racket includes a one piece integrally molded frame with a handle portion and a pair of beams which extend from the handle portion to the top of the racket. The height and width of each beam varies along the length of the beam. In addition, each beam has a maximum width and height at the bottom of the strung surface proximate the intersection of the beams and a frame cross piece.

  • Patent number: 5368295
Abstract: A tennis racket is made lighter than conventional tennis rackets yet has a higher center of percussion and a higher frequency of vibration. The head of the racket is ovoid, and the widest part of the head is above the longitudinal midpoint of the head. The longitudinal strings are fan-shaped and diverge outwardly and upwardly from the bottom of the head.
