  • Patent number: 8688409
Abstract: A method for determining arrangement data which represents an arrangement of measurement points on an anatomical structure of a patient, wherein the arrangement data is individually determined for different regions of the anatomical structure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 1, 2010
Date of Patent: April 1, 2014
    Assignee: Brainlab AG
Inventors: Gregor Tuma, Frank Grünschläger, Martin Adamski, Andreas Oschinski
  • Patent number: 8551024
Abstract: A method for determining a characteristic property of an anatomical structure from scan data which represents the position of scan points on the surface of the anatomical structure, wherein a spatial region is defined, the scan points which lie in the spatial region are determined, and the scan points which are determined to be lying in the spatial region are used to determine the characteristic property.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 4, 2010
Date of Patent: October 8, 2013
    Assignee: Brainlab AG
Inventors: Frank Grünschläger, Martin Adamski, Andreas Oschinski
  • Patent number: 8463004
Abstract: A method for determining a characteristic axis of a body structure includes generating at least two two-dimensional recordings of an area of the body structure; comparing each of the at least two recordings of the area with a generic model of the area in question, said generic model containing information on the position of the characteristic axis; ascertaining a mapping protocol for mapping the respective generic model onto the respective recording of the area; using the ascertained mapping protocol to map the respective position of the characteristic axis in the respective generic model to obtain the respective position of the characteristic axis in the two-dimensional mapping of the body structure; and using rear projection to determine a three-dimensional position of the characteristic axis from the at least two characteristic axes in the two-dimensional mappings.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 17, 2006
Date of Patent: June 11, 2013
    Assignee: Brainlab AG
Inventors: Gregor Tuma, Mario Schubert, Frank Gruenschlaeger, Martin Haimerl
  • Patent number: 8165366
Abstract: A system and method for determining the position of correspondence object pairs including A-objects and B-objects that represent the same objects of the same anatomical body structure in two different reference frames A and B, including: defining A-objects and B-objects that each represent different objects of the body structure in their respective reference frames; determining geometric relationship data A and geometric relationship data B that describe a geometric relationship between the A-objects based on positions of the A-objects in the reference frame A and the B-objects in the B reference frame; and providing data derived or extracted from the geometric relationship data A and from the geometric relationship data B to allow a comparison of a geometric relationship between at least two A-objects to a geometric relationship between at least two B-objects.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 2008
Date of Patent: April 24, 2012
    Assignee: BrainLAB AG
Inventors: Martin Haimerl, Frank Grünschläger, Markus Hepke, Oliver Fleig, Martin Haberl
