Abstract: A technique for registering a device (10) with a rights issuer system (12) in a digital rights management (DRM) context is described. The device (10) is provided with DRM registration information that is required to use protected content. The DRM registration information is generated from rights issuer information on the one hand and device information on the other hand. The DRM registration technique described herein does not require an interactive registration protocol between a rights issuer server (12) and the device (10). Rather, the DRM registration information may be generated and transferred to the device (10) even if the device (10) is offline, inactive or switched-off.

Abstract: A synchronization device synchronizes cameras capturing a multi-view session. In particular, the synchronization device receives a respective capturing parameter for each of a plurality of individual cameras, and selects a multi-view capturing parameter, to be used in capturing a multi-view session, that matches with the capturing parameters of at least some of the individual cameras. The synchronization device selects at least two cameras, from the plurality of individual cameras, suitable for capturing the multi-view session using the multi-view capturing parameter, and notifies the selected cameras to start capturing the multi-view session at respective times using the multi-view capturing parameter.

Abstract: Synchronizing cameras, connected via a telecommunication network, for capturing a multi-view session can be controlled by a synchronization module. The synchronization module determines a multi-view capturing parameter from a capturing parameter that is received from at least one camera. The multi-view capturing parameter is provided by the synchronization module to the cameras participating in the capturing session in order to synchronize the capturing of the multi-view session. Further, a camera device informs the synchronization module of the disposability and capturing parameter of the camera. The camera receives the multi-view capturing parameter for use in capturing the session.

The method includes encoding the sequence of frames and generating a plurality of substreams from the encoded frames in this embodiment. Each of the plurality of substreams is assigned an identifier, and each substream includes a common encoded frame and a non-overlapping portion of the encoded sequence. The non-overlapping portion of the encoded sequence of each substream is selected from the encoded frames based on the identifier of the respective substream. The method also includes transmitting the plurality of substreams to a receiver in an embodiment.
