  • Patent number: 11022310
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure is a process for generating work, in particular via a combustion cycle. The process comprises the steps of compressing an oxidator, e.g. air. The process further comprises mixing the oxidator with a reductor, in particular a fuel, e.g. hydrocarbons such as petrol, kerosene, and diesel and causing the mixture to ignite, e.g. by means of a spark or (compression) heat. The process further comprises allowing the ignited mixture to expand, generating work, exchanging heat between the expanded and combusted mixture and the compressed oxidator, and exhausting the expanded and combusted mixture.

  • Patent number: 9765994
Abstract: A process of transferring heat from a first relatively cold medium to a second relatively hot medium features rotating a contained amount of a compressible fluid about an axis of rotation, thus generating a radial temperature gradient in the fluid, and heating the second medium by the fluid in a section of the fluid relatively far from the axis of rotation. An apparatus for carrying out the process includes a gastight drum rotatably mounted in a frame, and a first heat exchanger mounted inside the drum relatively far from the axis of rotation of the drum.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 13, 2008
Date of Patent: September 19, 2017
    Assignee: Heleos Technology GmbH

  • Publication number: 20160025196
Abstract: A transmission mechanism comprises a rotating shaft having an axis of rotation, a reciprocating member, a ring which is rotatably mounted to the rotating shaft and rotatable about a ring axis, a first rod pivotally coupled to the reciprocating member at a first reciprocating member pivot axis and to the ring at a first ring pivot axis, and a second rod pivotally coupled to the reciprocating member at a second reciprocating member pivot axis and to the ring at a second ring pivot axis. A circular member is attached to the rotating shaft and located eccentrically with respect to the axis of rotation. The ring is rotatably mounted about the circular member, and wherein an outer circumference of the circular member extends beyond an outer circumference of the rotating shaft in at least one direction of the axis of rotation.

  • Publication number: 20090139222
Abstract: A system is described for storing, delivering and recovering energy, provided with a cylinder-piston assembly for absorbing a mass-induced load, which assembly is in fluid connection with a pressure source. The effective surface area of the piston of the cylinder-piston assembly is variable.
