  • Patent number: 6352495
Abstract: A leg stretching device includes a base unit, a connecting frame, a control mechanism, and a pair of leg support rods. The control mechanism includes a slide rod having a frame connecting portion mounted non-rotatably on the connecting frame, and a rack portion extending slidably into a stationary tube of the base unit. A ratchet wheel is mounted rotatably on the stationary tube and meshes with the rack portion. A control lever is mounted pivotally on the stationary tube, and a pawl unit is mounted on the control lever. The pawl unit engages the ratchet wheel to transmit a forward turning force applied on the control lever to the ratchet wheel, thereby enabling the ratchet wheel to rotate in a direction for retracting the slide rod into the stationary tube, and disengages the ratchet wheel when a rearward turning force is applied on the control lever. Each of the leg support rods is mounted pivotally on the connecting frame at one end, and is provided with an ankle support at the other end.

  • Patent number: 5537877
Abstract: A torsion wrench includes a tubular casing, a drive unit pivoted to the casing and adapted to engage a workpiece, a knocker for generating an alarm sound when torsion force that is applied by the drive unit on the workpiece reaches a predetermined torsion force limit, a biasing unit for biasing the knocker toward the drive unit, and an adjusting unit for adjusting initial biasing force of the biasing unit. The biasing unit includes a push piece and a spring disposed between the push piece and the knocker. The adjusting unit includes a tubular handle member which has a connecting end sleeved rotatably on one end of the casing, and a push rod unit having a first end portion extending into the handle member and a second end portion extending into the casing and connected to the push piece. Rotation of the handle member results in axial movement of the push rod unit in the casing.

  • Patent number: 5497682
Abstract: A torsion wrench includes a tubular casing, a drive unit pivoted to one end of the casing to engage a workpiece, and an alarm assembly connected to the drive unit for generating an alarm sound when torsion force applied on the workpiece reaches a predetermined limit. The alarm assembly includes a bolt mounted threadably in another end of the casing and rotatable relative to the casing so as to be movable along an axis of the latter to adjust the predetermined limit, and a lock unit for locking the bolt. The lock unit includes a first sleeve sleeved slidably and non-rotatably on the casing and having a retaining end, a second sleeve sleeved slidably and rotatably on the casing and having an engaging end to engage releasably the retaining end, and a tubular handle sleeved on the first and second sleeves and having one end connected to the bolt and another end connected to the second sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5199329
Abstract: A handle has a box end with an internal wall that confines a through-bore to receive movably a pair of identical rollers. The rollers has an eccentric shaft fixed between them and a central rectangular opening that extends through the eccentric shaft. An annular space formed around the eccentric shaft and confined by the internal wall of the box end includes a widest portion with a first length on one side of the eccentric shaft and a narrowest portion with a second length formed on the other side of the eccentric shaft. A plate is fixed perpendicularly between the rollers. A compression spring has one end secured to the plate. A cylindrical member with a diameter that is smaller than the first length but larger than the second length is disposed between the rollers.

  • Patent number: 5197358
Abstract: A socket wrench has a box end which confines an internal wall therein. A pair of rollers are connected rigidly by an eccentric shaft and are received in the box end. A pair of retaining plates are provided in the box end on both sides of the box end so as to retain the rollers therein. A resilient plate is provided between the rollers adjacent to the eccentric shaft. An inverted V-shaped rigid pawl member is provided around the eccentric shaft and includes a first and second section. The first section includes a curved first side formed adjacent to the internal wall of the box end, a straight second side forming a first clearance with the eccentric shaft and a free end interconnecting the curved first and straight second sides and which is biased by the resilient plate so that at least a portion of the curved first side adjacent to the resilient member frictionally abuts with the internal wall.

  • Patent number: 5082222
Abstract: A supporting device includes a vertical tubular support apparatus, a connecting members which is engaged with the vertical tubular support apparatus and has a plurality of lug members, a plurality of engaging members each of which is pivotally mounted to one of the lug members, a plurality of resilient apparatuses each of which is disposed in one of the engaging members and has a strap, and a plurality of legs each of which is mounted to one of the engaging members. A curved end of the strap abuts a positioning pin of the engaging member and urges it to selectively engage one of a plurality of angularly spaced notches of the lug member, so the angle of each of the legs relative to the connecting member can be adjusted for convenience of use, moving, carrying and storage, or for use on an uneven surface.
