  • Patent number: 9521869
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a human body protecting element for use with and attachment to an article of clothing, such as sports apparel, to protect a wearer from impact and frictional forces, such as road rash. One exemplary body protecting element includes a first part having a first locking member. The first part is for placement along an inner surface of the article of clothing. The body protecting element also includes a second part having a second locking member that is complementary to the first locking member and results in a mechanical coupling (e.g., a snap-fit attachment) between the first and second parts when the first and second locking members engage one another. The second part is for placement along an outer surface of the article of clothing and includes an outer ground contacting contoured surface.

  • Patent number: 5733496
Abstract: A catheter and method for manufacturing catheters. The method includes the steps of manufacturing a tubular member sized and dimension for use as a catheter and irradiating the tubular member to impart a desired stiffness to the tubular member. A single coat catheter is constructed from a polymer tubular member irradiated to cross-link polymer molecules within the polymer tubular member, wherein cross-linking the polymer molecules alters properties of the polymer molecules to create a polymer tubular member having improved stiffness characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5134831
Abstract: An infiltration and energy barrier comprising a flexible substrate sheet having at least one metalized layer thereon is applied to a structure in a substantially continuous manner and is disposed between the structural underlayment and the finish material to enhance the energy efficiency of the structure. In accordance with the desired application, the infiltration and energy barrier may be either impermeable or vapor permeable.

  • Patent number: 4376589
Abstract: Paper drive apparatus for multi-ply unglued paper wherein a centrally disposed pin wheel member is rotatable in contact with a backup member the latter having a central groove or slot into which the pins of the pin wheel member are rotatably receivable. Unglued, multi-ply paper is fed into the nip between the pin wheel member and the bifurcated backup roller across a demountable, flexible paper guide, the latter ensuring the proper angle of entry of the unglued paper with respect to the nip between the pin wheel and backup roller.
