    Abstract: A source of terminal voltage is connected to the armature current input terminal of a DC shunt motor whereby armature current is supplied to the armature. A monitor monitors the terminal voltage and armature current in a determined manner and varies the shunt field current in a manner whereby the air gap flux density of the motor is varied to control the torque of the motor drive shaft.
