  • Patent number: 4719663
Abstract: An assembly for detachably mounting a caster wheel to the underside of a structure such as a chair or cabinet. The assembly includes a mounting bracket which is secured to the structure and has transverse mounting slots formed in a parallel, spaced apart arrangement therein. A caster plate having a caster wheel mounted thereto is detachably secured to the bracket by depending flange members which cooperate with the mounting slots of the bracket. A mounting bolt is utilized to prevent subsequent detachment of the caster plate from the bracket once assembly is completed. The mounting bracket forms a channel and may extend along the entire width or length of the structure such that more than one caster can be mounted to the bracket.
