  • Patent number: 10341983
Abstract: A device may receive, from a base station, a wireless signal. The device may determine, based on the wireless signal, at least one of a signal quality value associated with the wireless signal or information indicative of a location of the base station relative to the device. The device may output a positioning notification, indicative of a manner in which the device is to be positioned, based on at least one of the signal quality value or the information indicative of the location of the base station.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 29, 2018
Date of Patent: July 2, 2019
Assignee: Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.

  • Patent number: 9749115
Abstract: Techniques described herein may allow for information, regarding neighboring cells, to be used in interference cancellation techniques in a carrier aggregation environment. A serving base station (or cell) may provide information, regarding neighboring cells that operate at a primary component carrier and one or more secondary component carriers, to a user device that employs carrier aggregation. The user device may use the information, regarding the neighboring cells, to filter interference, caused by the neighboring cells, at the primary component carrier and the secondary component carrier(s).
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 29, 2017
Assignee: Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.

  • Publication number: 20100304143
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing coated nanoparticles comprising a core comprising at least one first substance and at least one envelope at least partly surrounding the core and composed of at least one further substance, in a streaming system, to nanoparticles which can be produced according to this process, to nanoparticles comprising a nonporous core comprising at least one first substance and at least one porous envelope at least partly surrounding the core and composed of at least one further substance, the nanoparticles having a narrow particle size distribution, to the use of such nanoparticles in photocatalysis and to apparatus for carrying out the process.

  • Patent number: 6873844
Abstract: A method of adapting the Orthogonal Channel Noise Source (OCNS) for optimization and acceptance testing of a CDMA based wireless network under load conditions is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the invention, a test loading level (for example, 80%) and performance requirements are established for a plurality of Base-station Transceiver Subsystems (BTS). The subsystems then transmit any required overhead power plus sufficient OCNS power such that the total output level of the BTS power amplifier is at the selected test level (e.g. 80%). As a mobile unit moves within range of a BTS and requests access, the unit's power requirement is determined based on the requested data rate. The OCNS power level of the new BTS is then adjusted or lowered by an amount equal to the detected power requirements to allow access to the mobile unit. The BTS then establishes a communication link with the mobile unit.
