  • Patent number: 11280763
Abstract: A method for forming a wear sole includes forming a plurality of layers from a frame material, adjacent layers bonded to one another to define a frame. The frame can include a proximal surface configured to secure the frame to a probe holder, a distal surface configured to contact a portion of a target, a body extending between proximal and distal surfaces, an aperture extending through proximal and distal surfaces and the body, and a channel extending from the proximal surface to a chamber in fluid communication with the distal surface. The method can optionally include placing a membrane within the aperture. The membrane can be coupled to the body by a seal, inhibiting passage of a fluid through the proximal surface via the aperture. The chamber can extend within the body between a distal surface of the membrane and the distal surface of the frame.

  • Publication number: 20220011269
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating a digital twin representation of an ultrasonic testing environment. In one aspect, probe position data received from one or more controllers and coordinate system data generated by one or more sensors can be used to generate a digital twin representation of an ultrasonic testing environment. In another aspect, generating the digital twin representation can include determining probe position measurements and a plurality of probe paths to be included in the digital twin representation. In one aspect the system can include a vision system to enable remote operation of the ultrasonic testing environment based on the generated digital twin representation.

  • Patent number: 10782268
Abstract: An inspection system for determining the efficacy and veracity of a bond-line, comprising: a robotic arm assembly providing a gimbal mount for enabling linear and rotary translation about multiple axes; an ultrasonic transducer affixed to the gimbal mount of the robotic arm assembly and comprising a planar array of transducer elements, each transducer element capable of transmitting and receiving reflected ultrasonic energy indicative of changes in acoustic impedance within the bond-line. The reflected energy of each transducer element provides acquired bond-line data indicative of the efficacy of the bond-line while select transducer elements produce orientation data indicative of the orientation of the planar array relative to the contour of the bonded joint. The bond-line and orientation data are combined to determine whether the direction of the transmitted pulse should be altered to validate the bond-line data.
