Patent number: 11507329Abstract: A method of producing printed products uses at least one computer and at least one input device for controlling at least one machine for processing printing substrates. The input device receives technical and economic data of at least one print shop and the computer receives customer preferences relating to print jobs by using the input device. Based on the technical and economic data of the print shop, the computer calculates a simulation of possible print jobs producible in the print shop. The computer takes into account the results of the simulation and the customer preference inputs and generates matching offers for print jobs. The computer compares the generated offers with customer print jobs and, if a match is found between an offer and a customer's print job, the print job is processed by the machine for processing printing substrates.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2021Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Bernhard Wagensommer, Rainer Wolf, Frank Kropp, Gottfried Grasl, Dominic Stahl, Georg Roessler, Juergen Grimm

Publication number: 20210334055Abstract: A method of manufacturing printed products from print job requests includes supplying a computer with job forecasts of print jobs through at least one interface and preferences of a print shop through the interface or a further interface. The computer uses an exclusion filter to filter out non-matching print jobs by comparing the preferences of the print shop with the job forecasts and, based on non-excluded print jobs, creates preference classes for print jobs, receives data of print job requests through the interface, compares the data of the print job requests to the calculated preference classes of the print jobs to filter out non-matching print job requests, and forwards only remaining, matching print job requests to a production machine of a print shop, which accepts the print job requests as print jobs and processes them on the production machine to manufacture the printed products.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2021Publication date: October 28, 2021Inventors: Bernhard Wagensommer, Rainer Wolf, Frank Kropp, Gottfried Grasl, Dominic Stahl, Georg Roessler, Juergen Grimm

Patent number: 7127989Abstract: A printing material processing machine has an oscillating roll with a roll shaft, a roll barrel rotatably and translatorily mounted on the roll shaft, and an oscillating mechanism for moving the roll barrel to and fro along the roll shaft. The oscillating roll is mountable on a roll lock. A fixing device is provided and constructed in such a way that, in a dismantled state of the oscillating roll, in which the latter is released from the roll lock, the fixing device secures the roll barrel against displacement along the roll shaft and, in an installed state of the oscillating roll, in which the latter is mounted in the roll lock, permits the axial to and fro movement of the roll barrel.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2004Date of Patent: October 31, 2006Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Dieter Schaffrath, Frank Kropp

Patent number: 5921182Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning an outer cylindrical surface of an impression cylinder of a rotary printing machine includes a cleaning cloth pressed against the outer cylindrical surface by a beam. The beam is pivotally mounted to engage the cleaning cloth with the outer cylindrical surface upon pressurization of a pneumatic cylinder. A spring pivotally returns the beam to disengage the cleaning cloth with the outer cylindrical surface upon depressurization of the pneumatic cylinder. To assure radial clearance between the cleaning device and the gripper fingers of the impression cylinder, the pneumatic cylinder is depressurized at a first angular position of the impression cylinder and the pneumatic cylinder is subsequently pressurized at a second angular position of the impression cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1997Date of Patent: July 13, 1999Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AktiengesellschaftInventors: Willi Becker, Jens Friedrichs, Frank Kropp

Patent number: 5878669Abstract: A cleaning device provided on a rotary printing machine for cleaning the outer cylindrical surfaces of cylinders includes a pressing-on bar for pressing a cleaning cloth on a respective outer cylindrical surface, adjusting elements for engaging the pressing-on bar, and an elastic profile rail to guide and press a cleaning cloth onto an outer cylindrical surface over the entire cylinder width. The elastic profile rail receives a plurality of forces from spring elements. The elastic profile rail and the spring elements allow a uniform cleaning of the outer cylindrical surface despite the presence of uneven or rough portions of the outer cylindrical surface that might be encountered by the cleaning device during cleaning.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1997Date of Patent: March 9, 1999Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Willi Becker, Jens Friedrichs, Frank Kropp
