Publication number: 20020043388Abstract: A switchgear cabinet with two profiled frame sections, assigned to one side of the switchgear cabinet, wherein the open side of the switchgear cabinet is partially closed or can be partially closed by at least one wall element. A horizontal cross brace is arranged between the vertical profiled frame sections, against which the wall element rests in an area of one of its horizontal lateral edges. An open transition area in the side of the switchgear cabinet between the cross brace and the cover and/or the bottom area of the switchgear cabinet is covered by a shield. For simplification, the shield is fastened on a fastening section of a holder from the direction of the interior of the switchgear cabinet. With the shield in an unmounted position, the holder is maintained by a locking element in a prepared mounting position.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2001Publication date: April 18, 2002Inventors: Martin Ramdohr, Frank Kuster

Patent number: 6227282Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the aluminothermic welding of rails, the aluminothermically produced steel being poured into a refractory mold surrounding the rail ends which are to be joined, and alloying additives being contacted with that part of the steel which runs out of the reaction crucible and forms the weld in the rail head region, wherein the alloying with the alloying additives is carried out after the completion of the aluminothermic reaction and separation of the steel from the slag via the diverting plug in the mold, and the overflow in the is closed.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1997Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Elektro-Thermit GmbHInventors: Frank Kuster, Gerhardus Johannes Mulder, Donald MacRae, Michael Steinhorst

Patent number: 6092384Abstract: The invention relates to a cooler which can be fitted on the cover of a control box and connected thereto via an inlet aperture. The rain and dustproofing is improved by the invention in that an air inlet and outlet are fitted in the top of the cooler housing away from the control box, a cover component is connected to the top of the cooler housing at a distance therefrom, projects on all sides of the cooler housing and forms around it a downwardly open ventilation grille and is divided by partitions in the cover component into at least two chambers connected to the air inlet and outlet.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1998Date of Patent: July 25, 2000Assignee: Rittal-Werk Rudolf Loh GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Michael Diebel, Frank Kuster, Achim Edelmann

Patent number: 6076384Abstract: A closure for a switchgear cabinet door, machine case or the like, having a safety device. A lock is attached to the switchgear cabinet door, machine case or the like with a first locking element, and a second locking element is attached to the door frame, machine case frame or the like. Both locking elements can be brought into and out of functional connection with each other under the control of an electric signal. Additional locking of the closure can be simply achieved with commercially available locks because the lock has a turnbuckle, which can be rotated by 90.degree., as the first locking element, and an electromagnet is attached to the door frame or the machine case frame, whereby a locking member as the second locking element can be displaced into and out of the pivot range of the turnbuckle.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1999Date of Patent: June 20, 2000Assignee: Rittal-Werk Rudolf Loh GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Bodo Thielmann, Frank Kuster

Patent number: 5971511Abstract: A switchgear cabinet having a rack assembled from a plurality of frame legs bent at the side walls. The rack has open, vertical sides which are closed off by side walls and a rear wall fastened to facing frame legs of the rack. A cabinet door is hingedly connected to vertical frame legs of the rack front against which it is arrested in the closed position. The rear and side walls are covered by corresponding protective walls spaced apart from the rear and side walls and connected to facing vertical frame legs of the rack. The cabinet door is double-walled, an outer door wall of which is spaced apart from an inner door wall thereof and forms receptacle spaces for seals, hinges and locking elements free in the direction of vertical edges of the outer door wall. The protective walls of the side walls have beveled protective wall vertical edges which cover the free space between the protective wall of the rear wall and the receptacle space between the outer door wall and the rack.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1998Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: Rittal-Werk Rudolf Loh GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5850962Abstract: In order to reduce the residual stresses which occur in the region of a fusion weld of two rail ends (1,2), in order to reduce, in particular to make uniform, the cooling-down rate and--associated with this--the crystallization process within the solidifying weld material, a casting mold is proposed which is equipped with a system of risers (9) and air vents (10) which are designed symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal center plane (5) and a transverse center plane (3) of the welded joint, the risers (9) and the air vents (10) being physically distributed as a function of geometric parameters of the rail foot (8) and of the weld bead (4), and the cross sections of the air vents (10) being dimensioned as a function of the cross sections of the risers (9).Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1997Date of Patent: December 22, 1998Assignee: Elektro-Thermit GmbHInventors: Frank Kuster, Gerhard Skreba, Michael Steinhorst

Patent number: 5078200Abstract: Aluminothermically produced steel is poured into a casting mold which surrounds the two rail ends. A cooling agent is applied to the surfaces of the rail heads of the rail portions adjacent the two casting mold halves. The cooling agent is applied after the molten steel has been poured into the casting mold until the steel has solidified. The cooling agent may be applied until the projecting material and the casting mold halves has been sheared off. A casting mold for carrying out the method includes two casting mold halves which each has a groove for receiving a sealing paste in the inner surfaces thereof facing the rail ends, wherein the groove extends along the outer contour of the casting mold halves.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1991Date of Patent: January 7, 1992Assignee: Elektro-Thermit GmbHInventors: Hans Guntermann, Frank Kuster
