  • Patent number: 5002156
Abstract: A precision, highly reliable, positive displacement, pneumatic lubricant for pumping lubricant to a tool and work piece during machining operations; and for delivering compressed atomizing air thereto. The lubricator pumps lubricant substantially continuously at highly accurate, very low flow rates which can be minutely varied according to the needs of the user. The lubricator's piston delivers one pulse of lubricant for each input air pulse which is supplied to the lubricator from a source of input air pulses. The lubricator includes internal check valves for preventing back flow of lubricant into the lubricator's source, and for preventing back flow of pumped lubricant into the lubricator. The lubricator has an adjustable stop which controls the stroke of its piston, and which thus controls the amount of lubricant which is pumped by each pumping stroke of its piston. The lubricator also has positive stops for the maximum and minimum adjustment of its adjustable stop.

  • Patent number: 4345668
Abstract: A precision, very low flow rate, lubricant metering apparatus and method for metering lubricant to a tool and workpiece while various machining operations are performed by the tool on the workpiece. The apparatus has a pneumatic air logic unit which delivers a stream of air pulses to a pneumatically driven positive displacement, precision lubricant injector pump at a selectively variable rate. In response to each air pulse delivered to it, the injector pump delivers a selectively variable amount of lubricant to a lubricant delivery line by which the lubricant can be conveyed to the tool and workpiece. When the apparatus is used with a machine tool powered by an air driven motor, an air flow sensing valve is provided which automatically delivers compressed air to the air logic unit only when the air driven motor is consuming compressed air.

  • Patent number: 4147232
Abstract: A lubricator for an automatic riveter positions an absorbent pad containing a liquid lubricant in the path of the riveter's drill bit when the bit is being moved laterally. The absorbent pad is resiliently held to ensure contact between the pad and the drill bit. When drilling only, the pad is mounted at an angle to a cylinder and is driven back and forth by the cylinder to contact the drill bit and transfer lubricant.
