  • Patent number: 7009120
Abstract: A scale includes a housing, a first pressing element, a second pressing element, an adjusting unit, a spring, a carrying unit and an indicator. The housing includes a graduation provided thereon and has a lower portion. The adjusting unit is secured to the lower portion of the housing and has a first thread. The first pressing element is slidably secured in said housing and has a second thread engaged with the first thread of said adjusting unit. The adjusting unit can be rotated relative to the first pressing element for moving the first pressing element in the housing in the direction where the spring can be compressed. The second pressing element is slidably received in the housing. The spring is received in the housing and between the first and second pressing elements. The carrying unit is suited for carrying an object to be weighed and is engaged with the second pressing element.

  • Publication number: 20050074865
Abstract: Disclosed is a family of novel protein constructs, useful as drugs and for other purposes, termed “adzymes,” comprising an address moiety and a catalytic domain. In some types of disclosed adzymes, the address binds with a binding site on or in functional proximity to a targeted biomolecule, e.g., an extracellular targeted biomolecule, and is disposed adjacent the catalytic domain so that its affinity serves to confer a new specificity to the catalytic domain by increasing the effective local concentration of the target in the vicinity of the catalytic domain. The present invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising these adzymes, methods of making adzymes, DNA's encoding adzymes or parts thereof, and methods of using adzymes, such as for treating human subjects suffering from a disease, such as a disease associated with a soluble or membrane bound molecule, e.g., an allergic or inflammatory disease.

  • Publication number: 20020178381
Abstract: A system identifies undesirable content in responses sent to a user, such as in e-mail or in downloadable files, from an Internet or intranet site. The system utilizes a redirection program that identifies content requests from a user to a target server. The redirection program redirects the request to a proxy server that sends the request to the target server. Upon receipt of the response from the target server, the proxy server scans the response, which includes any attachments, for undesirable content, such as junk e-mails, computer viruses, pornographic material, and/or other undesirable content. The proxy server then acts upon the response, and any undesirable content, in accordance with default or user-defined parameters, such as removal of the undesirable content. The proxy server may then send the response, as modified, or a notification message to the redirection program forwarding to the user.
